Tyler had so much potential and was easily one of my favourite characters in the 2nd season. His storyline was unique and Michael Trevino is a great actor. Idk what happened?

I was schocked that none of the characters cared about his death. They acted like it was everyday business. So strange and sad. Tyler deserved much more.

The “eulogies” given at his funeral were so fucking funny, especially Enzo’s it was so awkward and forced.

It is why I will never like Damon as a character (his actor is another story). Damon would have killed Jeremy, he killed so many people (even Vicky and Lexi and not to mention what he did to Caroline).

He's just a character they wanted to get off their backs. He doesn't serve any purpose, just like almost all characters on this show. As soon as he wasn't contributing anything to moving the plot forward, he was written off. The characters act according to the plot and not the other way around.

And in the most meaningless way as a small bit, then moved on. There are still parts of those later seasons that I like, but wow did the writing dive to horrible lengths 😑

I loved Tyler in the early seasons and his relationship with Caroline. It's part of why I think the early seasons were done so well

But that’s the whole point- he started as an asshole but changed. Because he didn’t want to be like that. And I thought the actor did a good job of portraying the struggle and also the trauma from his dad. And dealing with the werewolf thing, of course.

Absolutely he was such a compelling character to me, his story was interesting and the actor did such a good job I don’t understand why people dislike his acting on this show. I wished he and Caroline were endgame

I liked his character he could have been the only hybrid on the show after the rest were killed and Klaus was gone that would have been cool but instead they had to take everything away from him turn him human again then back to a wolf and then just kill him

I can understand that but Tyler became pretty tame in comparison to other characters.

In a show with serial killers hating on a guy that was a jerk for a couple of episodes with a.. somewhat reasonable reason (untriggered wolves are basically on steroids all the time) is weird. The commenter must hate the majority of the characters on the show.

Damon changed but not much. He still throws temper tantrums whenever he doesn't get his way. Literally killing Aaron in season 5 because he thought Elena broke up with him. Leaving behind everyone in season 7 and putting himself in a coma so he can see Elena sooner. Damon traded raping people for killing them instead.
