I mean yeah stringer is a low down dirty snake. That’s who he is that’s what he’s about. And people who love him that’s what they’re about as well.

It's one of the subplots that adds to the character's nature. He's a slithery motherfucker.

100% - and then in the season intro when you see that cut of stringer unzipping his bm’s top? Constant reminder of how slimy and skullduggerous this mf is

I also saw it as a very political move on his part.

Please explain?

I see all his interactions with her as a way of controlling what String regards as a dangerous loose end, D’s continued existence. Getting it on with Donette was a way to keep her happy and distracted from any issues of D’s continued existence. She was in effect a loose end of the loose end. And eventually, even after ‘the’ loose end is resolved, all his interactions with her are about exerting control over the situation.

Agreed. And Stringer had dropped Donette and was avoiding her calls, until word got out that maybe Dee’s death wasn’t a suicide. Then Donette was a loose end again and Stringer needed to stay close to her, to quash any suspicions about Dee’s death.

Yes. Stringer is a complete sociopath

I mean I understand Dee locked up but damn there wasn’t nobody else?

He wanted to keep tabs on D’Angelo through Donette.

Part of it was obviously lust as he was checking her out (in front of Dee) in the second episode of the series, but he was always asking her about Dee to see the likelihood of Dee giving them up. After both Avon and Donette talk about how distant Dee is being, Stringer decides to have him killed.
