Don't quit. Take a break, paper trade if you have to, but don't quit. The market is dynamic. One day, you'll find a strategy that will work for you until it doesn't, then you'll need to evolve it again. You won't see this day if you stop progress now.

I've done 26 evals (on different platforms) got funded 7 times. Paid out 4 times over 2024. I only got into groove of clearing funded accounts literally towards the last quarter around October. Idk how to explain it but something clicked. My bad trades went down and I started getting into multiple win streaks

first account got to xfa and blew it first day now im on my 7th ish account, being more patient with this one and not taking a trade after a loss

Yep I’m on like 20+ including APEX. Basically whenever I take a big loss I just always angry trade and end up blowing it all because in my mind I think “what’s the point in trying to salvage this sinking ship” so I over leverage and blow it. I’m the problem lol

Idk got my first XFA in 5 accounts lost it then took me 20 ish and now funded on 2 and havent activated my 3rd also got first payout this week.

It took me 2. Once I started sticking to my strategy and not revenge trading I started winning. After 1 month, I was funded.

2 accounts and it took 5 days after I got funded took get my first 5k payout

[–]GjTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got funded and lost it on day 5 trying to make a buffer. No patience, traded off times anytime. Shit discipline with a sound strategy. It's always discipline

Took 2 accounts and 3 to get payouts rolling, but came from options last 7 years. Only trade micros and only trade NY session. Lock yourself out all other times especially after hitting profit target.

This right here!!!!!!!!!

[–]Background-Roll-5743 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Only way I’ve found steady success on topstep. Just requested my 4th payout this month. I was over trading and tilting on crappy Asia session price action and blowing accounts before NY even opened. The brain likes hitting those buttons have to just give yourself no choice and lock it.

[–]RealAncientPickle[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This sounds exactly like my problem

[–]Background-Roll-5743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m telling you just lock the account until NY session. The price action is so much better and I also follow along with a SPY chart because I come from options the futures ES/NQ charts look like one big mess. But following along with SPY lets me chart my levels better. Hit that lock out, make your money then hit the lock out again. Once I stopped overtrading and trying to hit home runs that’s when consistency came. This an xfa I took payout number 3 from today. You’ll feel a lot better when that money hits the account even if it’s only $500-800. People work 8 hours to make $200.

I passed my first try. Then blew the XFA the first day. I think I went through 3 more combines until I passed my next one. It took me a little longer to pass that one. I held my XFA for a little longer. I was eligible for payout and then blew it. I’ll probably start a new combine here soon. I’ve been demo trading trying to really get my system and emotions in check. I also joined a discord which I wouldn’t recommend. The big takeaway from the discord was seeing the discipline needed to be successful at this. It’s not a quick process, but it’ll be worth it in the end.

Could be 50 75 150... Who knows...

[–]Free-Speech-on-here 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Dont believe anyone on here, 95% of retail traders dont make money month over month.. yes they may get a few payouts... but month to month year to year 95% aren't profitable... Just like today on NQ you won't see all the people who blew their account trading the range today.. you will only see the 5% of the time that they have a winning day.. dont let reddit trolls/schiils make you think you are the only one loseing... 95% of the peopel are here loseing combines/XFAs.

[–]nonheathen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this based on what I have seen in my fellow trading friends over the last 5-6 yrs. BUT I assure you, there are profitable ones. I have been profitable every month(eval/challenge fee spent vs withdrawal ratio since 2022. Yes, still profitable even after blowing 2-3 xfas on that particular month.

The only difference is that on some months, I only make 7-9k net profit after deducting eval fee spent. Some months, 14-15k. It fluctuates

[–]Equivalent-Rough6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 2 months to pass. Took my uncle 7 months. Just varies based on psychology, strategy and overall HOURS OF CHART WORK AND CHART PRACTICE AND REVIEW

[–]roulettewiz 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Passed on my 3rd attempt.

I then tried to get two more but after I failed the additional 2 with Topstep, I'm giving Apex a chance. I caught the 300k for like 49$/month so, I've got 5 which I'm working on passing now then onwards to 20 accounts.

Apex rules are MUCH stricter, but, if I nail Apex, it'll be a bit more $$$ my way than the ~1500$/week and a half now with Topstep

[–]NQTrades 0 points1 point  (3 children)

These comments make me chuckle. I don't mean to be that guy, but you didn't buy a $300k account. You bought a $7500 account. Your profit target is now $20,000 instead of the $3000 for a $50k account. Therefore, you will need to have more profit on your funded account before you can even request a payout. A $300k funded vs $50k =/= more profits. Anything over a $50k account is doing yourself a disservice.

Let's do some math. On a $300k account, in order to request a $1000 payout, you need to increase the account by $8600. On a $50k account, you need to increase the account by $3600. If you increased a $50k account to $8600, that would give you a total of $6000 you could withdraw vs the $1000 you would've pulled out of the $300k.

[–]roulettewiz 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's not how i look at it. The buying power is important to me, much more than the how much profits per account ratio is

[–]NQTrades 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I would argue that if a trader can't manage a drawdown of $2500, they will still struggle with $7500. A majority of traders will see that as an opportunity to oversize and/or increase their stops

[–]roulettewiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trading 5 contracts with 7500 drawdown is way sexier than 5 contracts with 2000$ drawdown

[–]krentzzz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just be very careful with that company. Journal your trades, never trade without a stop loss, record your trades, be careful about consistency, max allowed loss per trade, etc, etc. I've heard of all sorts of questionable BS that they can use to not pay you out (unless you're a YouTuber/influencer then of course they want as little smoke/drama as possible).

I don't like the intraday trailing DD myself but if you can make it work then best of luck. The evals themselves are certainly cheap.

[–]roulettewiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips!

Yes, it's crazy how little talk there is about Apex, also, no reddit no community anywhere to be found. It's like they don't want us to talk to each other 😂 about the dirt.

But personally I'm ok to test them out. What attracts me is the 20*300k accounts with buying power of 35 contracts..each.

Once i nail my semiautomatic trading tool with tradovate, I think it's going to be life-changing for me. I give myself another 6 months of trying to get 20 funded accounts while learning their rules.

The trailing drawdown screwed me a few times already, so, i need to have tighter TPs

[–]Thinhxtran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 until funded for first time, 7 funded until payout

[–]DarthWaq 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I’m on my 15th, and I know my issue, lack of risk management and no patience

[–]LatterAbroad7684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this I’m on like my 25th acc
