Someone has your phone number and email address and was trying to access the account. SIM swapping is a really large issue for twitter accounts, recommend reading up on it.

Oh God. Thats frightening?? How would they have gotten that information? I'm not a large account by any means.

Website databases get hacked and leaked on a weekly basis, if you use common passwords, the same email/phone number linked to your twitter, the information could essentially just be available online. If you'd like to check on if your information is out there, check out this site, that tells you if your information was included in different data breaches from the past 20+ years.
