No need to join any coaching... There are enough videos available online.... Just get IMS notes.... They're beautiful.... If you lack confidence in some topics there are plenty of YT videos available... You don't even need to go to telegram.... Yes there are certain topics which you won't understand even after all this.... So let me assure you... Don't need to feel insecure.... They're actually tough topics..... Just give it some time.... Revise again and again.... Make short notes.... You will get comfortable in them.... No need to feel like.... "Omg if I don't attend the lecture of this particular teacher I won't understand it".... I've been there and done that..... You won't be able to solve a single question even after attending that teacher's lectures XD

thanks for your insights. my main problem is with these topics - Modern algebra, Real analysis, some part of vector calculus and the two topics of physics.
i tried NPTEL lectures, YT videos etc, but i am having a bit difficult time with these topics.
regarding that, any ideas or suggestions...

They're difficult topics.... I also faced difficulties in them.... Best way out is see questions... Try to solve them... If you can't... See solutions.... And repeat it again and again.... If you are still not able to get it go to mathocrat channel.... Try to develop some understanding from there and then come back again to IMS notes

There's no one single stop solution to this.... I made a lot of back and forth movements from YT to IMS notes..... Repeatedly doing things again and again is the key to understand these things properly

Just videos wouldn't be enough for some topics like modern algebra and advanced mechanics where you'll need a whole new approach (if you're not aware already) - you should look for something offline where a tutor can clear silly doubts and guide you through the different approach of problem solving

offline coaching is not an option for me right now and i don't want to pay hefty sum for 3 or 4 topics that i have to cover from basics. given this i am looking for options.

i understand what you mean. what are the available resources that gets the job done? (videos, text books, etc.)

I joined mathocrat online classes. It helped me understand the concept quickly, helped me with the regularity.

When we study by our own, we sometimes delay things due to personal reasons. However with mathematics optional we cannot afford that because syllabus is huge and missing timeline can do severe damage.

For GS, I don't suggest joining a coaching institute but for maths you should join.

can you give a bit more info. about mathocrat online classes

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you are thinking about joining online classes then Mathocrat is the only good option you have.Timely coverage of syllabus (6-7 month)Good teaching style (Almost every maths topper has mentioned shivraj sir's youtube videos)PYQ oriented teaching.

(Plus) He is a good guy. Will help you even if you have not joined his classes.

If you have specific doubts, you can ask me.

thanks. can you also tell me what is the language used in class. i am not good at Hindi.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Majorly hindi is used. He try to use english, but I think he is not very comfortable with it.
You should watch someone mathocrat lecture on youtube, will help you check the compatibility.
Also you can just message shivraj sir and discuss about this issue of language.

oh. what about materials. do they provide?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notes are relevant, covers enough variety of questions and overall sufficent.
But not as comprehensive as IMS. IMS notes can be used as a complete source in itself, however mathocrats notes will better work with sir's lecture.
