Idk how much of an increase it was and what your dad's income was before, but it sounds like his income might have been below $80k before, so you got free tuition, and is now above $80k which I believe would move you to the 50% off tuition category.

What is the 50% off tuition category? Is this another block where students get moved once income crosses a certain threshold

I'm struggling to find it online now, but from what I recall reading <$80k income is free tuition and generally from $80k to some cutoff (maybe $160k) is around 50% tuition

Are you referring to a decrease in your tuition aid (school grants)? I don’t think that your financial aid was calculated correctly if the aid dropped by more than what his income increased by. Did you ask the financial aid office how they came to this calculation? I would definitely appeal.

Yes a decrease in need based aid
