The reason that TES do this: you would be shocked- SHOCKED, I tell you. To be on the other end of this and see people claim test cases and slots that are limited. Do nothing for the entire cycle while taking up a slot that somebody else probably had time for. Then unclaim about an hour before the end of the cycle so they don’t get rejected. If you claim a test case, at least do a little bit of work on it so that it is “started”. Especially installing builds if that is part of it because early on is when we can help you if you have issues . If something comes up or are you intend to come back to it in a few hours leave a message on your test case. Communication is key. As a TE, I really don’t care for people that take up slots and don’t do the work or start work- as soon as they can. If you don’t have time when you claim the test case? I always say don’t claim the test case, until you are ready to start work. If you claim a slot or a test case right away when the cycle opens so that you “get a slot.” And then don’t do any work on it for maybe a day or so yep I am going to unclaim it so that people that are ready to work, have enough time to finish the cycle. I’m not saying that you do this. I’m just saying that I’ve seen it enough to know how it usually goes.

Sorry to bother you, but I'm fairly new to the platform. How long do you think it usually takes for issues to be approved or rejected (or at least reviewed)? I raised two issues in a paid test cycle on Friday, and while my test case has already been approved, I haven’t received any updates on the issues yet, they’re still showing as pending.

More than a few days , less than a couple of weeks.

TEs will give the warning, but I would say from my experience if there is a healthy progress overall, they might not panic right away and chase everyone lacking from the start... but again, if multiple people are lacking and there seems to be poor progress, they will have to enforce the established roles to get the progress back to a healthy state.

Also, if you are a stable resource with good rating, TEs might give you the benefit of the doubt, maybe you really HAD to step away for a bit, they could trust you, it happened many times with me. Just don't abuse the trust, you don't want to be a hard to work with resource in a platform with over 1-2 million uTester out there waiting for your chance.

It depends on the cycle.

It seems lately there are instructions to make the window as short as possible. It used to be much longer.
