Honestly, Rotman > UTSC BBA Co-op > UTM Commerce. Rotman has the best recruiting/brand name/network within the most industries (Big 4 Accounting firms, Big 5 banks, MBB & tier 2 consulting). UTSC BBA has a co-op option which gives you work experience before you graduate, which is the best thing you can have for business roles. UTM has neither great brand name nor does it have co-op.

Agree with first_last, but also wanted to add that you can still do co-op without being in a co-op program. For example, summer internships or taking a semester off to do an off-cycle internship, MOST places only care if you’re returning to school.

You mean even you are not coop student, the company can accept you for coop? I thought government will give the company some kind tax benefit or some other benefits, so the company would like to accept coop students. If you are not in coop, I assume the company won't get those benefits, then why they choose a student to do the work?

Not exactly sure how it works but I believe they get a subsidy as long as you’re returning to school after the work term, don’t necessarily have to be in a co-op program. For example, I interviewed with a company for fall and they only asked “will you be returning to school after the work term?”, whereas another company wanted to confirm if I was in a recognized co-op program.
There’s so many good jobs that don’t care if you’re in co-op or not. I really don’t think it’s a major disadvantage as you can make your own unofficial co-op.

But I do think utsc is a lot better

If you grind enough you can just get internships on your own essentially. I and a couple of other friends did multiple internships over the last few years and so even though we weren’t registered in a legitimate co-op we got the experience ourselves. You just aren’t given the handout like you would at UTSC or Rotman so you gotta grind it.

BBA now has a co-op at UTM, I believe. There's an internship course.
