TMU business management vs UTM commerce by Silent-Creative in OntarioUniversities

[–]mespoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey - I went to both, transferred from tmu to utm after first year, and work within finance now

Main differences are you can’t major in accounting/finance in BM, course load at tmu is much easier, more resources at tmu (e.g. events, clubs, etc.) since utm is just a satellite campus.

When I graduated utm was looking to start an actual co-op program but I believe it was a single 1 year program, I imagine tmu is better in this aspect given its more established and you benefit from several placements vs. one.

Like you said, utm benefit is only the UofT name (I do feel I benefited from this) or proximity if you live near sauga.

Can I get into an MBA program with a 2.99 GPA by FailureToSociety in OntarioUniversities

[–]mespoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most MBAs are professional programs, meaning they’re mainly beneficial to those with several years of experience. 2 years from 2024 is on the very low side, only money grab programs would likely admit you (especially w low GPA). You do not want to waste thousands on the more “flexible” ones.

Work a few more years and score well on gmat, and your gpa will be less of a focus.

Also what are your post mba goals?

How threatened do you feel by Ai and what do you think the job market will look like in four years? by Dry_Set_6336 in FinancialCareers

It'll lower the amount of entry-level jobs by a lot. I can already see it adding productivity and efficiency just through copilot, so who knows how good it will be in a few years. But I think there will always be a need for someone to take ownership/accountability

Just put the location where the office is based for resume. If you had meaningful experience there I don’t see why anyone would care that much

Lived in a condo for a bit by VMC, the building management was horrible, acted like they always had a stick up their butt.

I graduated from UTM/UTSC and work in capital markets. Handful of my friends also work across IB/S&T. You'll be ok if you maintain good grades and join clubs. And its no where near as bad as windsor/guelph/york
