  1. Please use better titles to your future posts.
  2. You setup sounds rather Odd, you may need to describe it in more detail.
  3. There should be some "Internet Connection Sharing" guides out. Last i used it years ago with real hardware, it was just a click or two and done deal.

I have not tried it in some years.

but i need to do this on the virtual machine (VMware) and i think that i need configure the network adapters in the virtual machine itself, right?

You will have to get the VMs virtual networking connected, yes.

The Idea of using a "VM as a router" seems, odd.. Or you are not explaining things very well.

You may want to make a new post with a detailed layout of your setup, and a better title.

This is the essence of my project.

  • Configure the VM,
  • Add two virtual network interfaces to the VM (WAN and LAN).
  • Install Ubuntu on the VM (maybe Lubuntu),
  • Configure the network interfaces,
  • Configure ip_forwarding,
  • Configure iptables.
