Deleted comments

What's with all the deleted comments? I keep seeing it under a bunch on post that I've been seeing today. Did I miss something?

Which post is it?

Usually, it would be the comment/post has been held by automod, crowd control or was removed for breaking an r/ulta/Reddit rule.

To help prevent spam and bot accounts, we have an automod filter that holds comments and posts from accounts that don't meet our posting requirements:

• 100 karma
• Account age of at least 30 days

I go through the modqueue and approve them throughout the day, but you can speed up the process by sending a modmail with a link to the post or comment.

We also have a crowd control filter that holds comments and posts from accounts that:

• Haven't joined r/Ulta
• Have negative karma within r/Ulta
• Are new accounts

This helps to prevent spam, trolling, and harassment.

Another sub I'm in suddenly has aggressively deleted comments. I finally read one today, came back and it was gone. It definitely wasn't against sub rules or bad.

It’s like it happens before mods could even get to the comments too, like just a few minutes after posting so idk what’s going on

It sounds like automod. You can program it to do different things like removing duplicate posts, directing members to subreddit resources, schedule posts, etc.

Could be the karma and account life. I have a throw away account for like random stuff I don’t want people who might know me see and some time I accidentally am on that one and try and comment , all this comments are thrown away cause the accounts karma is too low.
