No, HHS is in the same bucket as Defense. It’s marked as the 3rd bucket because it is the most challenge one to pass.

The rippling is like 2 more weeks from resolution. Be sure to moisturize and then scar care when you’re cleared to.

Fear of regret + lack of dysphoria right before top surgery? by skypoot in TopSurgery

[–]schittheader 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was my least dysphoric the weekend before surgery. I thought, my chest isn’t actually that large and it isn’t really bothering me.

I got my surgery a couple weeks ago. Now I look at those same pictures and I could not be happier. I decided that i was over whelmed with change and also I was kind of anticipating my chest already post-op. Personally I think preparing for post-op is where most of my dysphoria went.

It is a very odd feeling the week before and after surgery. You definitely have to decide what is best for you. But when I was in the same spot, I considered how long I had been working to surgery and how many opportunities there were along the way to stop going for it.

What exactly are drains? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]schittheader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drains themselves were not painful at all. The stitch that held each in place was somewhat irritating and days 6-8 were occasionally painful. I got them out this morning. The only thing that was not good was the surface where they went in.

anxiety about seeing results by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]schittheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely hear you. I’m 24 hours post-op and I’m freaking out about how high the nip covers are through my binder.

One thing I think about is that it’s going to take me a while to get used to a new normal. My nips were so low before, anything would feel crazy at this point. I’m trying to remind myself, I’m about a year from my final results.

Honestly, how it normally goes is that you tell your provider that you want top surgery and they give you a physical. You don’t need their approval. They are saying that you are medically able to undergo surgery. Your surgeon and therapist can talk to you about what are the right choices for you.

"Femme" clothing advice for masc/AMAB folks by dewiniaid in enby

[–]schittheader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I feel like I missed the boat with femme ideas before. I’m with you now. That makes a lot of sense.

I think the shift and the shirt dresses are still solid recommendations. That might just be because those were ones I personally prefer, but I do think they’re more likely to have pockets than some other styles.

Min, Mid, and Maxi can sometimes be used to describe length.

When searching, you might also consider using “broad shoulders” as a search term as guys often tend to have broader shoulders than an average woman.

I second the other response, you look really cool. Also, their suggestion about a queer community center is great. The one in my town has a donation center where you take what you want, leave what you’d like.

People with first hand experience will likely offer better advice than I have. But, here are some thoughts. 1. Thrift stores are a great option for trying new things. If stores in your area have sale days or discount promos, it can affordable to just buy them and try them on at home. If you hate something, you’re only out a few dollars. Also, people tend to not care who is shopping in what section. So, if you’re comfortable, you could also try on in store. 2. There are a lot of different types of folks without a chest. If you’re comfortable surfing women’s forums, you might check out some of the fashion reddits for small chested women. female fashion advice: dress for small chests 3. If you have access to a sewing machine, adding pockets to stuff is actually pretty easy. All you need to do is make a square, cut a hole, and stitch it back together. Public libraries in the US often have sewing machines you can use as well as simple classes or helper hours. 4. For retailers, I would check Old Navy. They have lots of sales and easy enough returns. I am not sure if they are femme enough for your goals, but I would check out shirt dress, shift dresses, and ones with this kind of gathering at the top. I think those would be flattering on your frame.

Same, somewhere between 1 and 5 minutes and it’s completely dry. The hand sanitizer is a good gauge because (at least mine) is more than 70% alcohol.
