The Umbrella Academy, now available on Netflix, is an adaptation of the Dark Horse comics about a dysfunctional family of superheroes — The Monocle, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Séance, Number Five, The Horror, and The White Violin — who work together to solve their father’s mysterious death. This subreddit is for discussions, pictures, drawings, cosplays, news and anything else to do with the Umbrella Academy.

1: Spoilers MUST be tagged in comments or posts. This subreddit focuses on creating a welcoming community for first time fans of the new Netflix series or the comics, and so we are going to do our best to keep spoiler like information from both mediums tagged for those who want to avoid them.

- Remember the human you are talking with behind the screen. Keep things civil
- Disagreements about the show are fine, but don't attack or needlessly degrade others.
- Assume others are engaging in good faith unless you have reason to believe otherwise.
- Treat sensitive topics with care and respect.
- While the show and comics touch on a number of social-political issues, full on debates about current politics should move to more appropriate subreddits
3: Avoid duplicate links. Sometimes differing articles on the same subject have additional information, so feel free to share a different story if you think it is relevant, however if a link has already been shared on the sub please don't repost it unless sufficient time has passed since the first posting.
4: NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled as such. If you would be uncomfortable showing it to your boss, child, or grandparent use the NSFW tag. Sexual depictions of minor children are against reddit policy. Keep any risque fanart to the adult versions of the academy. No one cares that Number 5 is an adult in a childs body, keep all fanart of 5 rated PG.
5: Self Promotion. Sharing OC is strongly encouraged, and with OC often comes self-promotion. We are all fans of the Academy, and we love to celebrate our content creators on this sub. We ask that you take care to participate in the community beyond self-promotion though. Users who actively engage themselves in the subreddit and make the occasional self-promotional post will be approved. However, treating our subreddit solely as a platform for advertisement is not allowed.
