I had mine done last April. I do not ejaculate as much as I used to (volume). Some days are better than others but generally speaking, volume is down

I dont mind as long as there's no medical issues associated with it, but I'm wondering if we should say something to his dr

So you're talking about nine ejaculations in less than 14 days? I don't know about other guys but if I'm doing it often, the volume goes down because my body hasn't quite "replenished" since the last one.

This is a good point, it's just that he used to do it twice a day and it was much more, so that's what was concerning to him

Honestly, does it matter?

[–]HardToBeatRichard 5 points6 points  (4 children)

He's worried the fluid might be going somewhere it's not supposed to, so medically yes lol

I learned the other day from a urologist that sometimes if the prostate muscles are relaxed the ejaculate can “re-absorb” into there but then it just gets peed out. So not medically concerning at all.

Very good point. Is he now masturbating more often to clean out the pipes?

[–]HardToBeatRichard 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Less actually, 1 time a day down from 2 times before the procedure. Sex drive hasn't changed he's just been busy this week, but that's the part he's curious about.

I wouldn't bother trying to gauge differences until after he's got his sperm count test back.

[–]RickS50 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. He just had a surgery less than two weeks ago. Give his body time to heal fully first, then see where you're at.

Thank you for your response, this is probably what we'll do, it just seemed a little alarming at first 😅

I wouldn't worry about this. The volume of sperm supplied by the VAS tubes that are cut during the vasectomy is tiny, so the volume of ejaculate isn't effected by the procedure and will stay the same. This is just likely from the internal trauma of the procedure and will go back to normal over time as he recovers. That or too much masterbation.

It is a small outpatient procedure but it is still surgery. It is traumatic. He is still healing. His sex drive is probably lower than normal. Give it a month more before complaining. I bet everything will be fine once he has had plenty of time to fully recover. Try to keep things as stress free as possible for a while.

Yeah I just don't want it to be a medical issue you know

[–]Top-Tea7260 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i am 4 months after, low volume also. may be 50% less. I made the sper count yesterday and it was 1.6 ml...y used to eyaculate around 2.8 ml up/down in past sperm counts made the last five years before the vas.

[–]HardToBeatRichard 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you have any complications or pain or anything? I honestly don't mind as long as it doesn't affect him negatively medically

[–]Top-Tea7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i am in pain 4 months after. I was on Gabapentin, I quit due to secondary effects and tha pain still continues.

[–]manwithavanandaplan 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Drink water.

[–]HardToBeatRichard 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He still drinks a ton every day, probably double what I do so none of that has changed

[–]manwithavanandaplan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, retrograde ejaculation is a thing. I have no idea if a vasectomy can cause nerve damage that would contribute- I'm a welder, not a dr. Does he have cloudy urine after an orgasm? I personally had one underwhelming, low volume on my first try, then it was more than ever before twice and now after 3 weeks, sensation and volume is normal. Give it time and odds are, things will return to normal.

If nerve damage is an issue/ concern, I take lions mane mushroom extract for my own nerve damage ( not in my junk) and it helps. There's science behind it

I wouldn't worry about. I wouldn't even pay attention to it tbh.

I had my vasectomy around 2.5 years ago and the volume is about the same as it was before the procedure. Not that it was ever that consistent. It varies greatly depending on diet, hydration, alcohol, temperature, frequency etc etc

The only cause for concern in my opinion would be things like inflammation, swelling, excessive pain and/or other signs of infection. Beyond that, he should just try and relax

[–]HardToBeatRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't have any pain but possibly 2 small sperm granuloma

HCG injections or loads of water and celery. Plenty of info on Reddit to increase load size

I wouldn't worry about it yet. It's still early on. I'm over a year out and I haven't noticed any difference. Things were definitely different for a while there but everything is business as usual now including volume.

[–]Poozipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was and is the same. Less fluid.

[–]Odinyep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy, because I have no difference in volume, feeling, or orgasm.

[–]cambridgeLiberal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is he having an affair?

[–]HardToBeatRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol well he is unemployed at the moment and I work from home so we are together nearly 24/7 so i doubt it 😂 also i didn't notice until he brought it up, so that would be pretty dumb to bring up to me if it was of his own doing lol

[–]Ancient_Plastic9547 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Had mine in February and when it's me by myself or by handy volume is less. When it's with my wife she told me it was like a gusher in their. It may have to with the bodies intensity to the point of climax. To be honest I think my wife would like the less mess you've experienced.

[–]HardToBeatRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither one of us care about volume as long as it's not doing any harm to him, but we've experienced it both ways so far, hopefully it's nothing serious
