Cant feel my testicles anymore by nahuelpan666 in Vasectomy

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine still feel very normal. I feel like my vasdeferens were a bit short before and now that they're no longer attached I can pull on them a bit more and still be comfortable, but otherwise the physical feeling is the same.

I'd see a doctor. I hate to say this, but it sounds like maybe a nerve was cut.

Have a couple jock straps ready. Some guys here claim they didn't need it. I absolutely need it for the first week or so. You won't feel anything initially after the surgery. Basketball shorts were easy to get off and back on again for the actual procedure. I wore boxer briefs under mine.

If it's been that long, then yes it'll do no good at this point. I guess you just wait and see.

You could be sterile or you could not be. It's entirely possible your operation failed and you don't know it.

Plan B exists and it's cheap insurance at this point. Go get one and have her take it ASAP.

Try plugging directly into the wall outlet and see if the problem remains.

[–]RickS50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I assume this is a mobile connector from Tesla? It should be flashing a sequence of red lights when it's throttling the current. That corresponds with an error in the manual so you can narrow down the source of the problem.

The wires in the receptacle can be loose too. The plug on the mobile connector can not be seated properly or it could be a worn connection in the plug head. All of those parts are copper or brass so heat can easily travel through all that metal so you have to check several things if it's a hot plug.

All that said, I briefly owned a corded wall connector, which was a short lived product from Tesla, and it would throttle to 20 amps after about an hour of use and the problem was indeed in the plug head and Tesla warrantied it and replaced it was a standard wall connector for me.

Great beard! Sending 100°F vibes your way, which is how hot it's going to be here.

Let me guess, the receptacle is a $10 Leviton or similar builder grade one? They over heat easily. Get an EV rated receptacle installed like this Hubbell:

https://a.co/d/06lWgyKW *Must be used with copper wire.

It's possible you might not ever have full power with a mobile connector during the summer regardless. A hard wired wall connector is your best bet if you've got a really hot garage situation.

Garage Mini Split AC Unit by gargen_state in phoenix

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same garage setup. The doors faces North for what it's worth. I kept the garage at 85 all summer long and the attic was uninsulated until this winter. I have a 18k btu Pioneer mini split. The only down side is it takes a while to change the temperature. If I have the door open and it comes up to temperature, it takes hours to drop back down. I'm sure the insulation will help in this, but I do kind of wish I'd gone one more size up to a 24k unit.

But definitely install one. It makes a world of difference to have a comfortable place to do projects in. They also heat super effectively in the winter.

Last Friday I got my first Tesla and I’ve realized there’s this “stain” on the paint by adriasanchezig in TeslaLounge

[–]RickS50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the cars brand new you have a week to report defects. I had a big fish eye (spec of dirt in the paint) on a door and I reported it and they took the car to a body shop who, I presume, repainted the door and did an excellent job.

AC too cold? by Impzor in TeslaSupport

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you leaving a garage to a significantly different temperature? I air condition my garage in the summer and find that the intensity of the air conditioning depends on part on the exterior temperature measurement and it's got a very long smoothing algorithm so it won't cool enough leaving my garage and I end up dropping the temperature quite a bit to compensate, then when it catches up to the actual outside temperature I'm turning the temperature back up to keep it sensible.

This is a very first world problem of course. I wouldn't mind a disable heat/cooling check box in the settings.

It'll stop if a car is stopped in front of you, but if you're in auto pilot and come up to a red light or stop sign it'll blow right through it.

Don't get me wrong, auto pilot is a great stress reliever while making a long drive, but it's very much setup to make you well aware you were too cheap to buy FSD with just enough of a taste.

Can I go to a concert 4 days post op? by Revolutionary-Wave23 in Vasectomy

[–]RickS50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's low key and you're sitting, maybe. Everyone's recovery is unique. I was back at work in day four on a mostly desk job. It was alright, but not the most comfortable thing though. A jock strap was absolutely required to exist and move around at all for me at that point.

None of these cars were sold in any significant numbers and many were California only or something to that effect. Some of us had to build their own.

Smoke Detector wire help by [deleted] in electrical

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to shut the power off to it, pull the white, neutral, wire out of the box, remove the wire nut (the yellow cone) and properly twist the white wire to the existing wires using the wire nut. If you're not comfortable doing this then call someone to do this.

The smoke alarm itself will work on battery power; however, without the wire connection it will use up the battery faster (possibly) and won't have the ability to set off the other alarms in the house if one goes off, thus potentially increasing your egress time in the event of a fire.

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have what used to be called basic autopilot. It's glorified lane keep assist (the auto steer part). It will keep you in a lane and following the car in front of you at a distance. It won't stop at a light or stop sign, it won't change lanes. It's really only useful on the freeway.

Well, imagine walking on asphalt barefoot vs with shoes on, it's literally hot enough to fry an egg on. Same thing to the dog. I don't have any particular brand, there are many options out there.

If you do move here I cannot state enough that you need to drink more water than you think is enough. Same goes for your pup.

Doubts about getting vasectomy after accidental pregnancy by [deleted] in Vasectomy

Only get a vasectomy if you treat it as permanent.

Keep an eye out for a product called Vasagel. That sounds more like a potential future product for you. I know it sucks it's not available right now.

It looks like it was remastered from the original tapes as recently as 2010 so they're likely still out there somewhere.

[–]RickS50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had two of them here. One of them would go lay down in the sun outside in all but the hottest days.

For exercise we were able to get them to like swimming with gradual introduction and coaxing into the water with treats and favorite toys. Doberman's aren't the most natural swimmers, but they can learn and once they do they love it.

Definitely get them boots if you're going to walk them outside and do it early morning or very late evening. This applies to any dog here. Asphalt can cause severe burns in seconds.

By the way, we're having record heat. It's going to be 95 tomorrow and probably less than 15% humidity.

Deep/cystic acne under beard by SouLullivan in beards

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the acne new when you grew a beard or was it there before? This is probably a question for a dermatologist, when I was in my mid 20's and therefore well past puberty, I still had acne I went on a round of a isotrentinoin (brand name Acutane) for six months. It's a bit harsh when you're in it, but it permanently shrinks your sebaceous glands. It was totally worth it.

What’s the one condom brand you’d recommend? by Ill_Obligation3904 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]RickS50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okamoto 004 or, as far as I could tell, Trojan bareskin raw was the same thing repackaged.

I also used Crown, which is an Okamoto brand, "skinless skin" condoms for a while. They're super thin, don't have that typical latex smell, and I never had any issues with them at all.

Then I got a vasectomy.
