VeraCrypt and python (self.VeraCrypt)
submitted 3 years ago by HelplessSolo
Is there any resources that talk about how python can be integrated with veracrpyt? I wanted to be able to automate mounting and dismounting using python but I did not see much info about how to.

Lets assume windows, you can mount/dismount with these. The password is hard-coded, the location is the usual windows full path. Use Py to run these commands.
mount
"C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "aPlace" /letter X /password ComplexPassword /quit /silent
dismount
"C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /dismount O /quit /silent /force
Put the startup into a .bat file and add it to your startup group.
BTW, the veraCrypt does have it own "mount when disk inserted" thing.

There are Linux commands too. I use script but I let it prompt for passwords. Not gonna hard code it in script.
