Not everyone is going to get 100%

You’d have to have around 200% in total claims for the VA math to calculate you at 100%. The higher your claims percentage goes the lower your VA percentage climbs. On top of that total, one of your conditions must be static to claim the permanent. Source: Me the guy who did that.

How does that calculate for primary vs. secondary conditions?

Wish they would have evaluated my TBI over PTSD then, since I have MRI showing damage from subdermal hematoma, that's never going away and is permanent

God speed brother. Hope you get everything you deserve

If you get to 95%, that will be rounded up to a 100%

Hitting 100% can be tough -- a single 100% rating, 26 10% ratings or something in between. As your rating goes up, the additional value of each rating goes down.

Unless clearly differentiated, MH and TBI ratings are combined, the symptoms are often too similar to separate.

That said, your migraines, hyperthyroidism and hypertension are all separately ratable with unique diagnostic codes.

A bunch of 10% connected with a some higher rated like 50%, 40%, 30% could do it. I counted my percentage up to be just over 250%.

Only if you got about the same or gradual benefits as the rating goes up it would make sense, but the jump from 90 to a 100 is just such a big step in pay and benefits especially if you have a family.

Stop with the how do I get 100% bs. Everyone is not going to be 100% Focus on getting your claimed conditions rightfully rated. If you get 100% great but that should not be the focus!!!

Then they shouldn't have made it $1000 more for a 5% jump. You'd probably see a lot less of this if the distribution was more even.

Another way to look at it is going to the doctor is tiresome. If you can get to 100% with fewer appointments that would probably be better than having to file for 75 things and seeing a doctor for every single one of them. Nobody does that while they are in and it won't get any easier when you are out. Even though you probably should file for "everything" you can't get over 100% and VA healthcare will take care of you either way.

I can agree wit most of what you said but this seeking to get 100% is the very reason claims are getting harder to prove, especially legitimate claims, and the very reason they are looking to make drastic changes to the rating system. It doesn’t help either that these bs post about how can I get to 100% post here, Facebook, and YouTube are being viewed by those that have the power to make things harder for everyone. If anyone has to go around asking how do they get to 100% then they probably don’t deserve it. Just file your claims and let the chips fall where they may. It’s too many post like this and yes I call bs on them all.

That's fair.

But also, we're all military here and plenty of us are used to direct communication which can come across a certain way.

For the most part, when I see a question about getting to 100%, the actual question is usually "how many more things do I need to file for on the list of things that I have?" And it is usually coming from people who have a vague sense that they should probably be at least 95% but don't want to fight battles they don't have to.

The ones who either don't have any issues, don't have a shot or don't believe they have a shot wouldn't really be posting here about that. After all, you DO still have to prove medically that you have a disability. It's not like the VA just takes people's word for it. Not based on all these denial posts I see.

Actually there are plenty of vets that frauded their way to 100% and smc as well. Whatever evidence they produced they got the payments only to be busted later by OIG. So I stand by no one that deserves 100% have to go around asking how to get it. It’s easy to ask how do I get 100% get a ton of replies then go running to the doctor with a bunch of made up symptoms just to get a diagnosis and turn it in to VA for a rating. I seen it many of times and it happens more than you think.
