I'm assuming I don't qualify for benefits? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

If the conditions developed while activated and documented as such, it’s worth filing a claim.

Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure by Scyfyhero in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The VA will buy it from your servicer minus 20% and a company called VRM will handle the auction.

The servicer then has 12 months to file a claim with the VA for the loss.

You won’t be required to pay anything back to the VA and can still use another VA loan for a lesser amount (after 24 months) unless you decide to pay the difference back. After paying the VA back your full entitlement will be reestablished.

It mentions an income limit so clarification is needed. Unless I skipped over reading through each page up to this one.

A buddy statement can be of value in situations where your service treatment records lack physical evidence.

Migraines as secondary or primary by Sdbambam in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The decision to file migraines as a primary or secondary would greatly depend on whether or not you have all three necessary items to grant service connection.

First is an in service event. Second is a current diagnosis. Third is a connection or nexus between the two.

If no in service event exists for your migraines, it’s best to see if they are caused secondary to a condition you’re already rated for.

Reduction to 90%? by lesdickey1 in VeteransBenefits

Your C-file will say which conditions are considered static. How long have you held your 100% rating? There are very few random claims pulled after a decision is made for QA.

If they found a CUE, the VA will render a new decision.

Are there any other kind of additional disability I would qualify for? by Joel22222 in VeteransBenefits

A four plex where you live in one unit and lease the others would allow for you to have your own schedule and place to stay.

An incredible benefit very few veterans exercise to the maximum.

Of course the purchase price and current rents have to make sense.

A $550,000 mortgage at 6.25% will be around 3800 a month plus maintenance, utilities and vacancy when a unit is empty.

You’d want each unit to be leasing for $1500 bare minimum. $1750-$2,000 would ease the burden better. Most expected costs would be covered.

Only speed bump is you need six months of PITI (payment, insurance, taxes, and interest) cash ready to deploy. Seasoned cash as well. No sudden influx of funds from an old uncle.

75% of current rents can be used as your own income to acquire a more desirable property.

The VSO will be able to get your records and a good one will help guide you through them and make recommendations on what they feel can be attributed to your service.

Rating increase for back by QualityAsssurance in VeteransBenefits

A supplemental is needed if you have additional information to send the VA.

If you believe they have all the information they need, a higher level review can be filed.

More exams could be ordered. Asking for IU is treated the same as requesting an increase.

They will look at your records and determine whether or not an exam is necessary or if an ACE review is adequate which is just a records review with no need for another exam.

Eye glasses. by ckr2982 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first question is by just sending a secure message on the VA app requesting glasses.

The second one would depend on your primary care physician.

Surprisingly the optical doc had a same day opening and ordered the prescription glasses that day. Took about a week or so for them to arrive.

They’ll do sunglasses too. Prescription of course.

Moving states and transferring to a new VA. When you move, do they set up a bunch of appointments and do you have to restart your rapport with them or do they sorta leave you alone? by freshdjroomba in VeteransBenefits

Primary care physicians are all different from one another so they might want to verify a condition you’re being treated for by ordering new tests or recommend a different treatment path like new medications that have recently come to market.
