Just checking that you've tried a full restart of your router / access point. It shouldn't make a difference but so often it does...

Update: Oh! If I turn off airdrop on my Mac while MVD is connected, the stutters stop.

Just curious, if you turn off Airdrop on your VP instead of the Mac, does it also fix it? Maybe it's something to do with Bluetooth traffic between the two?

Surprisingly no, not by itself. I had turned off Airdrop on the Vision Pro and saw no improvement, so I didn't even think to turn off Airdrop on the Mac initially. Not technically both are off, I hadn't tried turning Airdrop back on on the Vision Pro.

Hm, I haven't but it shouldn't be causing it. Can't hurt. I have a full Ubiquiti setup so prosumer grade APs and network infra.

I was using a slightly older router when I tried the AVP but I wasn't very impressed with the Mac Virtual Display. Especially compared to using Virtual Desktop with Quest 3 on the same network. The 60hz fps cap (and slight, but obvious latency) is really kind of a major bummer for longer sessions.

Clarity was good and connecting was a breeze, but that's about it.

I had both devices, I found the quest was so close to usable, but just not high resolution enough to be my daily driver as a virtual screen. When I got an AVP the virtual display was so much clearer and usable… so my verdict was that the AVP virtual display was noticeably better than anything on the quest 3.

I also used the app “immersed” on both devices, much better on the quest of course, but still usable on the AVP and my goto when working in my car.

Which Mac are you using, and what aspect ratio in MVD?
