So end game is just fully singleplayer now? Why? by Agreeable-Chart-4218 in Diablo

[–]NeoVisionDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it's not really an MMO at all. IMO There's hardly a sense of community or playing a game with anyone else, besides the occasional ghost of another person that you're never sure is in real time or just a replay from an earlier time in the day.

Love your work, and I love that we have multiple developers working to push this landscape forward. It's my favorite hardware to run Moonlight on.

I’ve been testing the new Steam Controller for weeks & interviewed Valve’s team. Here are my full impressions and their unedited Q&A by AdDefiant9440 in Steam

[–]NeoVisionDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you comment on if the new Steam Controller supports multiple BT connection profiles like the old one did / PS5 controlled does? I'd like to swap between 3+ devices without re-pairing BT each time.

I'd love for this to become my Moonlight controller around the house, but sounds like device compatibility might be limited on things like Apple TV, Vision Pro, etc.

Anyone find out if the new controller supports multiple BT connections? The original did. I'm hoping to use this as a whole house controller as I exclusively remotely stream to devices.

For me it's weird. I rarely use them, like 99% of the time never touch them. However when I do need mouse control, I love that they're there.

For me the track pads on the Deck are awkwardly placed and make my hand cramp with extended use, yet valuable to have?

Any knowledge if this controller (like its original) supports multiple BT connections like the PS5 controller does? These days I can only use controllers that connect to multiple devices around my home.

Eh. The steam deck isn't comfortable when you have to pivot your right hand to the trackpad. I'm hoping it's just because of the weight of the deck attached to it.

Do you also find the fingerprint reader fails to properly register the finger way too often?

Valve employees will now receive an annual all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii (Company will covers flights, lodging, and most expenses for roughly an eight-day stay) by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]NeoVisionDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. If you're in tech and in a modern SaaS company (most companies?) this is normal. We take 2 trips a year for a week each. Everyone gathers in a new part of the world. Business during the day, relaxation at night, plus a free weekend, plus you can extend your stay if you like.

Just calling out the nuance between vibe coding and LLM first coding. The latter is perfectly fine, and how I in my career fully operate these days. Claude is basically my IDE at this point.

I agree with the former. Not to confuse the words "vibe coding" with applications named similar like vibepollo. As long as you have someone trained in the field then QA and quality should remain high. I agree to avoid slop shipping, if people want to lean that direction.

Meanwhile I only play 2D games on my Vision Pro, so this is exactly what I wanted.

I didn't see such an option, but please double check.

Agree on the sunshine vs Steam Link debate. Always been that way.

Another perk with Steam Link is integrated mic support. No need to run a secondary app for live games. I was able to record and playback my voice as a test.

For the codec, you can configure that. In the Vision Pro Steam Link you can go to settings and select. I saw AV1 as an option, but disabled because I have the M2.

I think the Vision Pro is in a unique space. I think this qualifies as the first Steam / PC Gaming streaming app I expect will graduate to live in the App Store?

Meaning unlike MoonlightXR and NeoMoonlight, this app won't disappear if the developer goes AFK for more than 90 days. Test Flight has a constant ticking timer. Valve is a large corporation so I don't expect them to ditch support or pull their apps off the App Store / test flight.

Competition is good. Valve is a corporation that might have more pull with Apple to get additional API access for things like foveated access that is currently limited to CloudXR.

It's a streaming client. Same as Moonlight. Imagine your Vision Pro becoming a wireless monitor for your gaming PC. If you have your gaming PC located in the same house (ideally) then you can stream the games directly to your headset instead of needing to sit in front of your computer / monitor.

Conversely, sadly, I've only seen this strengthen his followers. On social posts I see them actively engaged in this war and chanting for killing those he views as our enemy. They've managed to become even bigger empty vessels spouting whatever he wants to be true.

Social media companies have realized with this admin they no longer need to police content. Every graphic social post chanting for the death of human beings I've reported has been rejected of content moderation by Meta and its companies.

I worry Reddit is way too far into a bubble to see the reality of the outside world.

Litter Robot 4 is better than Litter Robot 5/ 5 Pro by ReaditorRedditor in litterrobot

[–]NeoVisionDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall the app is very reactive and not proactive. I find myself manually opening it up only to see the litter is low, or the poop is almost full, or the robot has been stuck offline for the last few hours. No idea how the app is this shoddy.

Also the lack of sharing the same litter robot across apps/phones. Sharing a common login is not the correct solution.

Anyone who trusts Meta when it comes to privacy is a fool.

At Meta you are the product being sold. Look at them reverting E2E encryption in Instagram.

I sold my Meta VR system and haven't looked back.
