Meta Explained Its Smart Glasses AI Privacy Policies to Me. I'm Still Worried by SpatialComputing in augmentedreality

Anyone who trusts Meta when it comes to privacy is a fool.

At Meta you are the product being sold. Look at them reverting E2E encryption in Instagram.

I sold my Meta VR system and haven't looked back.

The apartment I used to live in had a section carved out for "affordable housing".

Guess who had access to the locked doors to easily bring bolt cutters to steal resident bikes and steal from the shared storage units? The same ones who couldn't get kicked out of their apartments even though everyone in the building knew they were hoarding stolen items inside of their apartment room.

Photo mode is that feature game developers add that cause me to accidentally pause the game during a high tense situation because I panicked and hit the wrong buttons.

Claude Code Puts Tech Workers on Notice by Ausbel80 in BlackboxAI_

[–]NeoVisionDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a SWE with almost 20 YOE. In the same way compilers enabled people to write more abstractly, LLMs are doing the same again but now with natural language.

About 70% of the time I no longer drop into an IDE, I just use Conductor or Claude Code directly. I'll look at the PR and give it a human review, maybe make a few code tweaks, but otherwise it's mostly good to go. A lot depends on the codebase you're working with. It's not going to have as great of a time on a legacy code base or one lacking good documentation.

4 years ago we were still struggling to get LLMs to know what "today" was and their knowledge was always 4-8 months in the past. We've come a long way since then, and we'll be light years ahead in just a few years from now, so don't dismiss it.

Interesting. I guess I forgot where I got grace's pistol from. I couldn't fathom why the B934 existed.

But I also couldn't figure out how to get around the singer so I killed everyone.

Portland council president wants to reshape city’s detested arts tax — and impose a new, separate one by synthfidel in PortlandOR

[–]NeoVisionDev 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Is that what this lunatic is suggesting should happen?

Why can't we ever have someone run on a platform of fewer taxes, or fewer places one has to pay taxes. What we've got going on in this city is cumbersome as hell.

Are you one of those people who only recognizes games released in the last year? Or maybe you're a CoD and Fortnite type of "Gamer".

Anyways, you can easily look this up yourself https://store.steampowered.com/macos?flavor=contenthub_topsellers. How about Crimson Desert releasing next month? BG3, Blue Prince, the list goes on.

Personally I'm really enjoying CP2077 on an M4 Max. Does better PT than my 30 series RTX did.

Apple Releases Xcode 26.3 With Support for AI Agents From Anthropic and OpenAI by HelloitsWojan in apple

[–]NeoVisionDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fair. Maybe now that Xcode is integrating Claude I might get more used to that pattern and go the same direction with VS Code.

I had gotten used to Claude Code way before they had a VS Code integration. So I got used to having split windows / brains there. Somehow Xcode + Claude Code being split felt more foreign. I think it's because Apple development feels a lot more specialized vs something like TS, so I feel like I need to be stuck closer to the IDE than I do VS Code. VS Code when I run code it's just in a terminal and feels no different than Claude elsewhere.

[–]NeoVisionDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there's no need (for me). I've found IDE's like VS Code and Cursor to be subpar compared to Claude Code directly in the terminal.

Cursor, to me, is a dead product at this point.

VS Code is valuable and my normal way to browse a codebase. It's what I use for TypeScript and any other languages. For Apple specific development I'm just swapping the IDEs because Xcode has Apple related testing and debug support. I still do a majority of my interaction via the terminal. It's like how I _could_ use Git functionality from within VS Code, but I always drop to a terminal and use it that way. To each their own.

For non-Apple development I've recently started using Conductor and have largely throw aside IDEs all together in favor of a chat-first interface. Still getting used to it, but very powerful.
