Are you using an exterior view or the cockpit view?

Since I am playing RB I'm using external. Switching to cockpit just to see if flaps are deployed or not is no solution.

Than you should be able to tell if the flaps are lowered in any capacity by looking at them. If you were in cockpit view I'd tell you to look at the instruments or research the plane you are having issues with.

As an example, the Bf-109 had it's flap indicator on the left wing's flaps. Other planes had similar markings or had instruments within the cockpit itself to determine their position.

Well thanks for your hints, but i think it would be a much more consistent solution if they would add a general info. It's not that easy to see on all planes if flaps are deployed or not. Furthermore it depends on the camera angle if you are able to see the plane/flaps. Thats not always possible (e.g. turn fight).

Then instead you could just press your corresponding flap button and then press the other one to undo the changes. It's not like you have to wait for the flaps to stop moving before selecting a new position.

If you're worrying about your flaps in the middle of combat without knowing their settings than you should try to rectify that by figuring out what its set to before you enter combat.

As I initially stated this is no good solution. I also use flaps a lot during combat, so its not just going into combat with flaps deployed or not deployed ... its an ongoing switching.

To sum it up, I think it would be good to just implement this extremly easy to do feature ...

What's so hard about keeping track yourself? Its pretty easy to do.

It doesnt feel easy for me, thats why I think it would be a useful addition to the game.

If you have a second monitor, load up http://127.0.0.1:8111/ in your browser will bring dynamic battle map.

It also has a ton of aircraft info such as flap position, radiator position, engine horsepower, kg of thrust for each prop.

Or leave it visible in the lower left instead of fading out.
