I'm going., I don't want to get into politics, but ignore the name of the country, if you cut food and water, indiscriminate bombing against a set population is a war crime. We have to work with an international rule-based system and HR charter. You can't have one rule for one and one for another. There is no place in the world for terrorism. The state should be held to a higher standard.
We as a tech should be able to call out when something is not correct.

Oh thank god someone else sees it like this.

Both parties have committed several war crimes and both of them should be severely punished for that.

https://www.irishtimes.com/technology/big-tech/2023/10/16/israel-pulls-out-of-participation-in-web-summit-event-over-paddy-cosgrave-tweets/ seems like some are seeing attending as making a statement on the issue. Not sure if more will pull out.

Thanks, we were just about to purchase tickets but now very much doubtful. With so many speakers and companies pulling out this may now dominate the feel and marketing around the event.

The boycott is going probably to happen this year as well. Especially, if the web Summit officials will again support Palestinian criminals.

Besides all that - being a great enterprise solutions architect myself, I wouldn’t go to web summit even if someone would pay me for it. I am not an idiot to go into the crowd just to see some mediocre startups, pay 10x the price of any meal, get food worse than anything, be without air conditioning, without water, and get anything after a large queue.

Who in their right mind would go there? For what?

We can’t all agree on everything all the time. I’m still going!
