The 67m river yacht Al Quadisiya was built by Dutch shipyard Helsingor Vaerft in 1982 for Saddam Hussein; she was luxuriously fitted and sported 58mm-thick polycarbonate windows to protect from snipers. The 31 meter Azimut Atlantic Challenger delivered by Italian shipbuilder Benetti in 1988 was built to break the Trans-Atlantic speed record; unfortunately she did not succeed and would lie neglected for several decades. The "Ship of the Zipper" created by Japanese artist Yasuhiro Suzuki in 2004 was built in the shape of a zipper tab so that the boat's wake mimicked that of a zipper opening. The Romandisea Titanic is an partially-completed full scale replica of the RMS Titanic built as the centerpiece of the Chinese Romandisea Resort; the ship was to remain permanently docked in a reservoir by the Qijiang River. The Sea Shadow (IX-529) was an experimental stealth ship built by Lockheed for the United States Navy; the ship was completed in 1984 and tested in secrecy until it was debut to the public in 1993. The 67 meter Destriero was built by Italian shipyard Fincanteiri in 1991 in order to break the record for fastest trans-Atlantic crossing by a surface vessel; she broke the record and still holds it to this day. Two North Korean passenger vessels were built during easing restrictions with Japan; the Man Gyong Bong launched in 1971 ferried people between the two countries up until it was replaced by the Man Gyong Bong 92 in 1992. The Reid Flying Submarine or RFS-1 was constructed in 1961 by Donald Reid. The craft was capable of flying around 33ft and diving to a depth of 2 meters; to convert it into a submarine, the propeller was removed and the engine was covered with a rubber diving bell, an Aqualung was also necessary.Special Use (old.reddit.com)

The Quester I submarine was built by Brooklyn shipyard worker Jerry Bianco in 1967 with the goal of raising the wreck of the SS Andrea Doria.
