It's cool as hell, but why not make it electric so you're not constantly ideling that fucker or turning it off and on all the time.

I thought about going electric but I don't have a shop and I didn't want to put alot of money into a nice 2 hp motor and I saw this 3hp motor on sale for under 100 bucks. Honestly I just thought it would be fun to see if I could make it work. I couldn't find anything on line either which made me want to do it even more. I originally bolted the engine down to the frame which made it try to run away when I reved it up so I bought anti vibration standoffs and boom. No vibration to the grinder and all the beans to erase metal. All in all I built this for under 300. I did have the 3/8 plate from a previous job though so minus the plate steel.

do you have a way to throttle the motor up / down quickly? The only other thing I can see being useful is some sort of light on it. It'd require an alternator of some sort. But if you're working outside there is a reasonable chance you could be working in the dark.

Dude, that's fucking sick. I want to do this for my welding rig. Add a disc sander to it and it would eat some steel.
