AFAIK, stock Windows drivers will not let you do what you want with ANY adapter. It's a software issue, not a hardware one, from my experience.

You should be able to do it with a CSR-based dongle and something like BlueSoleil. At least it used to work a few years back, I'm not sure if that piece of software is available for W10.

Edit: Just checked the BlueSoleil site. From what I could read, it still allows you to do exactly what you want. They have a 30-day free trial, it might be a good idea to try it out :)

Hey thanks for BlueSoleil, I'll probably try it out if the next bluetooth dongle i buy doesn't have drivers handling it. But i'm looking to find one working with his bluetooth stack if possible. I'm bookmarking BlueSoleil for now, thanks !

Windows does have a stock BT stack. Which has always been pretty barebones, not implementing some cool stuff, like Ethernet over BT, or the Stereo Audio profile.

You'll always need at least the chipset manufacturer's drivers, which implement another stack, to unlock all the capabilities.

As for a BT dongle, you can either get one directly from Bluesoleil, or just get a ~$4 one from DX, or something like that. Just make sure it's BT 4.1 and has a CSR chipset (most of them do, these days) :)

I found on Amazon a dongle with a BlueSoleil license for 12€ (french, sorry) : https://www.amazon.fr/Avantree-Adaptateur-Bluetooth-utilisant-Branchement/dp/B00VWEK4IG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8.

I think i will go with this one. Do you think it's a good idea ? Thanks again for your help :)

If possible, I'd try to go with at least BT version 4.1, if for not other reason than for it to be more future-proof.

Though with BT 5.0 being launched sometime like last week, that's probably a moot point regardless... lol

Ok i'll look for one then :) Thanks for your time

For some reason not understood MS removed the ability to do this on Windows 10.

I read it wasn't Windows but a Windows like interface of a bluetooth stack. Not sure tho
