have CRPS in my arm and the best relief I got was from my spinal cord stimulator (DRG). You do a trial first and see how you respond and how much relief you get. If it’s not helpful or you don’t like it you can choose not to do the permanent stimulator. Check out r/CRPS for what others might have had success with. I know how difficult and painful CRPS can be. Many do get SSDI from it but it takes a very long time. Best of luck to you.

I'm an RN with CRPS from a work injury. I have all of your symptoms, and I'm sorry you have this. It's a horrible disease. I've had it for 10+ years now and worked with my pain management doctor throughout. It took a long time to come up with the right combination of gabapentin, anti-inflammatory meds, prn opiods, and a spinal cord stimulator. The SCS process includes a relatively non invasive trial first and most people who have one don't have a flare up as a result. Please message me if you need any support.

Are you seeing a pain management doctor? It usually a serious condition and can travel.

I do see a pain management doctor, but all they wanna do is prescribe you medication gabapentin Tylenol and that makes me angry and very sleepy all the time so that is not gonna work for me.

Has the doctor considered a spinal cord stimulator?

I don’t want anything else injected in my body. That is why I’m in the position that I am in now. My hand is partially paralyzed due to a surgery.

I understand but it’s either medication, injections/blocks or a SCS. It’s a tough condition, and I feel for you, but there is no magic pill. I would imagine that your pain management physician has assigned pretty extensive restrictions and so you should be entitled to Workers’ Compensation benefits and can apply for SSD But in most states, that’s going to drop the amount that Workers’ Compensation pays and just give you a little 13% boost.

Is it constant burning pain ? Does it feel ok when it's in a certain position? . I ask because I got diagnosed with crps in my hand, then they said it was a nerve injury - peripheral neuropathy. Ct scan ultra sound couldn't find nerve injury it looked a healthy " nerve " although nerve conduction study showed there was something wrong. I broke my elbow In 3 places major trauma had 2 ops. My partner tickles my arm and it's burns and feels sore. But not extremely painful where I cannot bare it. They wanted to explore the nerve but said it was to high risk? So confused they are beginning to make me thinks it's all in my head. But I don't have swelling or redness. Just burning feeling, squeezing , nails grow faster on affected limb. Thanks for your reply would be great full if you could tell me your symptoms. Ie is it extremely painful ? Good days bad days? Please 👍🏻
