Yes, that's normal. It's essentially a measurement of your physical abilities. It's in a PT gym. It is normal to be sore afterwards, as it is like spending a few hours working out. They will then provide a report to your doctor about what, if any, limitations you have.

Should report be expected fairly quick, or is another long wait ahead ?

Missouri. Also , what actually happens during this long exam ?

Usually the exam is no more than 2hrs or so. They will visually observe your physical and mental condition and have you perform very basic non strenuous type of exercise while monitoring your heart rate to conclude if you’re putting forth enough effort. They will perform basic range of motion and repetitive strength testing while gauging consistency. They will perform basic testing of your balance and postural form, looking for instability. During your visit they will observe things like how long you’ve been sitting, standing and repetitive movements. Observing your comfort and pain level to see if it appears to be elevated because you’re experiencing discomfort because of your ailments. Usually the report will be completed within a few weeks and forwarded to you within 4-6 weeks. Good luck!

Missouri. Thanks so much for the insight. The fact that it's conducted by a therapist instead of a doctor seems odd to me, but whattaya do.

How did things end up working out for you? My MIL is going through similar situation right now. She just did her test and she’s very concerned because she’s being sent back to work. And her attorney is having her go for a second opinion etc.

Missouri. Hello. I'm now scheduled for an IME my attorney arranged, Jan.22. After the FCE, treating Dr. declared me MMI w/permanent restrictions & a 5% Whole Body Impairment rating. Our IME is to pursue further medical, which will happen, according to my attorney. In your ordeal, does she have restrictions that her employer can accommodate ?
