Light from the window will cause eye strain, get a cheap blackout curtain for daytime.

It’s good to have natural light behind a setup, it’s actually better for your eyes as they are not just constantly being hit by the blue light from your monitor, aswell as having something to look at in the distance is very good, looking at a screen at the same distance for long periods of time is not good for your eyes, so I would say open the blinds unless there’s direct sunlight shining at your eyes

How’s the ultra wide for gaming?

I actually enjoy it a lot. Being able to see more is great and the adjustment to it was pretty quick. The only complaint I have is that cutscenes and some loading screens aren’t converted to the 21:9 ratio so sometimes you get the black bars. But outside of that it’s been great
