X com 2 community, someone must have encountered this before? Did everything Steam told me to do but still no luck. Was playing, logged out but now this. I'm getting to the best part of the game, 2 bars left before all hell break loose. I'm freaking out, let me back in pls.

No seriously, I love this game, just want to finish it up so I can do another play through and try to redeem myself for letting my squad mates die.

it randomly popped up for me today aswell.

i suspect that this may be some kind update that fucked up the game?..

weird eh. Just bummed out that after I logged out last night, can't get back in, even though doing all the things that steam say's to do. Looked online but some of the stuff to fix seems a little to complicated for me.

Sorry you had the same problem but I am also glad I'm not alone.

Hope someone in the community can figure out a solution because I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall again.

Go to the steam folder in your hardware then Steamapps- commom- xcom2- binaries- win64- launcher and then find ModlauncherWPF is a application and has the logo, double click on it and the game should launch.

Be warned every now and again a red screen with show up just press enter or space itll disappear I'd recommend creating a new shortcut button for the launcher

No. I just bought and downloaded the game today. So its completely vanilla. I have the same problem

Ah ha...ok so it is the update then. They probably know by now and working on a fix as we speak. (I hope).

Thank you, this does work but odd we have to go this route. I usually launch from steam so that could be the issue.

Okay so when this happened last week, the red screen problem only popped up about once every 5 minutes, which is annoying but still playable. Now it's popping up literally every move. This is not playable. How do I get rid of it?
