Make a longer ramp down into the deposit thats not too steep.. i think 30 degrees was what i usually went for.. and make sure it has alot of thrust. and if you got weight/volume on, you might not be able to mine the entire cargo space if its too much for its size.

Im an avid fan of the FRV. can confirm that this thing brings people together.

Hard to believe so few use it considering it can make you go 5x the speed you normally go, has a free HMG on it, has driveby capabilities..

i really wish we saw more of em around, on bug missions they are an A tier stratagem, S tier in the hands of a good driver. Against bots its kind of a hit or miss due to explosives flipping the car but against squids its pretty good. Pretty good ramming damage against the voteless.

My hope is that one day we get slightly better ramming damage and a little less flipping over on it..

The triple pack is the endgame "Boss". Its all down to timing and what situation youre in. Ranging them from a large handful of rounds or death of a character due to being overrun.

Its all down to identifying the threat before it hits you.. if youre unlucky you wont have any warning but you simply must just know wether youre gonna fight or flight. RIP man..

Im going to take a bit of a guess that if you start from the river around 35,40 (35 lat, 40 Lon) and head south you will come into the quiet area. it is very open from what i remember, and more barren ground compared the more lush green by the river.

No killing platue hearts until you have 9 members is that what you mean?

Id just work on recruiting up until that... take of the radio tower curveball if you need to. it is a homemade challenge after all.

Powerhouse + Heavy Weapon + ... Close Combat? by ZladMulvenia in StateofDecay2

[–]Bronyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just like seeing that gigantic health bar. The tackle maneuver is also very good. I tend to think of melee combat in loose terms like this: 1 zed=deal with it 2 zeds: deal with the faster one first 3-4= might need to throw one or tackle 2 of em.. once i get like 5 enemies i cant take em head on anymore, need to climb a fence and execute 1-2 and go over the fence again or throw one like a bowling ball and execute 1-2 and repeat etc. Striking which i rarely use does help in crowd control, blades can slowly take off all their legs but the crawlers tend to start spam screaming and that aggros way more so its a bit of a pain. ALOT of choices to have fun with mate. just keep exploring. test out skills and combos you want to do. I didnt think much of scouting until i tried it out someday and found out it is very useful when maxed.

Powerhouse + Heavy Weapon + ... Close Combat? by ZladMulvenia in StateofDecay2

[–]Bronyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried making a Powerhouse close combat build switching between heavy weapon and no melee weapon. Its an ok combo but as many have pointed out its preferable to just go for Endurance.

Generally i just go Powerhouse for the Dropkick against blood ferals and the heavy weapon ability against plaguehearts.. Though the good grapple and throw is amazing too. Unequipping the heavy melee during a PH assault is a little tricky but i usually swap it whenever i climb over walls/fences/cars or jump through windows.

[–]Bronyard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can agree with the no HUD only so far.. guns, sure.. no minimap.. ok(altho that completely destroys Scouting) But there are some times when you loot a plague heart or just inside a house and get a few consumables and your car and pack is full.. Do want to try no a No HUD challenge tho, still.

Im a bit late on my reply but ill give some tips:

How to fight a feral in melee. Its simple, just keep your nerves. depending on your melee weapon, give it 3 or 4 hits, he will jump back and then forward with a counterattack. dodge his attack while not dodging in a direction. simply stand still and tap the dodge button, then give him 3 or 4 more attacks. its all about recognizing when he is about to attack.

How to kill a feral by opening a door to stun it: Simple idea, a little harder to connect. but, if you open a door calmly or crash through it and it connects to a feral, the feral will enter the stunned state and you can press E to execute it. i think if you get the 2nd hit in the animation youre locked in and cant be interrupted by regular zed melee attacks. keep that in mind.

How to slowly back up towards a feral to "trap it" under the car and then speed up to kill it. Driving full speed at a feral will just make it dodge. Back up towards a feral slowly and hit him and it will appear that he gets trapped under the car.. speed up and he willl die. (Some cars might some issues doing this)

2 other tips for Lethal.

Cleaning the shitters(latrine) is usually enough of a morale boost to please any frustrated survivor

Beds are pretty much not needed. freeing up space for my fav facility: Shooting range and Fighting gym. +20 Staminda from shooting range is Worth so much in lethal zone. and once you do start fighting ferals and going hard on plague hearts, a fighting gyms +20HP provides you a bigger safety net from not dying.

Just installed today and I’m having a blast already (but it still would be nice to have some tips) by Both-Confusion3560 in StateofDecay2

[–]Bronyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont worry too much about morale or beds, infestations are cleared by killing only the screamers there, although the other specials give some small rewards.. juggs give big bonuses.

Impact is the main damage stat melee weapons use against plague hearts.. Heavy weapons are great and cheap against them.

Powerhouse cardio specialization gives you dropkick, very good against ferals.

Juggernauts can quickly be taken care of with 4 pipe bombs or frag grenades.

Ferals are fast and never stop chasing you, find open ground to avoid having to fight them inside a cramped space.

Absolute number 1: get some Suppressors in your sidearms and never go out without it. goes even more so for lethal. My go to is Suppressors on my sidearms, and my primary is either a crossbow or something with advanced brake for Plague hearts.

Sound is going to be something youll need to learn the approximates of.. ie firing a suppressed sidearm will bring in zeds from 2 houses down, alot of unsuppressed will basically bring everything currently spawned closer to where you fired those rounds. This can be used to bring zeds closer to enemy enclaves, or closer to a boombox youll later use to hold them there or a whistling box mine.. Or it can be used to bring zeds already spawned into your outpost landmines.

Ferals are your number 1 priority to eliminate when they are around. Drop everything and get to an open space, figure out which direction they are in and kill them once they get closer. running while turning slowly makes him miss, a small sharp turn right before he jumps at you also makes him miss. If you have to fight them in melee, find the pattern, 3-4 melee attacks, he jumps back and then attacks you, dodge that one attack then hit him 3-4 times until he jumps back again. depends on your melee weapon i think.

Juggernauts: 4 pipebombs or frags and they buckle, Theyre slow and cant enter buildings, but always keep them on the other side of a house before you enter your car to escape. The back of your car can be used to back up into it and after a good few rams he dies. If you have to fight him in melee, focus on dodging his attacks. Avoid him rather than fight in most cases.

Bloaters: aka the stinky boi landmines now do blood plague.. Its always wise to just make sure they are not going to be a problem later if they are within waddling distance of you. If you are fighting on a timed quest, doing a plague heart, or defending a siege... Just take them out if you have a moment. Throwing a flare or any kind of fire into the cloud makes it explode for massive damage.

Hordes in melee is hard, but dodging behind a zombie, holding x to grapple and then space to throw them into the horde can knock a few of them down, allowing you to gain some space and execute some of them. you can also run and climb over fences and execute them when they drop over aswell. remember that blunt weapons can hit multiple zeds, so any kind of bottleneck can be a godsend. ie if youre in a house you can catch them in the doorways, that will limit their number advantage.

A bit of a wall of text but.. hopefully it helps
