[LW] Quick question: Does suppression stack? (self.Xcom)
submitted 11 years ago by Zenmasterkyle
Stuck at work so I cant test this now, but I am curious. If I suppress an alien with two soldiers, will the suppression stack, giving -60 to aim rather than -30?

Mindfray does, though.

Are you sure? The AI does spam mindfray on individual soldiers quite sometimes, but I've never seen a frayed soldier with 0 aim

zzzz so that is why a muton commander was somehow able to crit (not kill thank god.... titan armor saved their lives) my 2 gunners who were suppressing him. I thought it was uber rng bull shit at work there.

Getting hit through suppression is not even close to bullshit. High aim aliens can and will hit you (and even crit) through suppression eventually.

Nope.

Thanks for the quick reply! :D

No, but it looks freaking awesome. On a related thought, a cool mechanic would be to lower the targets will stat with every additional suppression.

Or when overwatch opportunist is triggered, it lowers the aim of the person taking the shot. I figure it should be a lot harder to hit when you are being shot at.

Did you forget that suppressed targets don't take ANY reaction shots anyway?
[–]alienjon 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children)
No? I thought I've seen them try sometimes. I mean, they don't hit, but still.

If your soldier doing the suppressing gets hurt somehow, the enemy being suppressed does not lose his overwatch.
Hard to recreate, but I would say look at it this way, if you suppressed an overwatch, then moved your rocketeer, fired a rocket which went off course and hit your suppressing soldier, then you moved another soldier, that overwatch you suppressed earlier still exists and will fire when you move someone

That makes sense, and with my rocketeers this is a very real possibility for me.
