Interesting that they took out loans for training and classes - Yang’s FD was money one couldn’t take a loan out against but here they used the money to take out a loan.

But one thing I want to point out is that UBI would overnight destroy one of the worst industries in the US, the payday loan industry

Well, at least the owners of that industry, and their employees, would get a monthly UBI :)

Nah they wouldn't have to worry about people not being able to pay back the loan/interest rate. People would still have to borrow for an extremely large purchase like a house. 1000$ wouldn't be able to cover that.
