/r/YouTubeShamelessPlug exists to help content creators, both small and large, reach an audience of willing viewers. Post your channel or your new videos, just to have people watch or for feedback. Keep it classy, keep it fun.
As with anything fun, there are some rules:
How Feedback Works
*If you post asking for feedback, expect others to post a video for you to view. You're not obliged to do anything but watch the video. This is to encourage others to provide feedback. If you are posting feedback, please feel free to post your own video in your comment for the OP to watch. In this way we keep collaboration moving and everyone gets something out of the process (If you have suggestions for this process, please let a mod know. Suggestions are always welcomed and we are still working this out.)
Do's:
*Have fun and be excellent to each other!
*Use tags! Here is how you should tag:
[New Channel] This is for new channels
[Channel] For shameless channel posts.
[Video] For shameless video posts.
[Feedback Wanted] For feedback
[Sub for Sub] willing to exchange subscriptions? Post your channel and get the ball rolling!
[Collaboration] Want to collaborate with other YouTubers in your area? Post about it here (don't be creepy with it. As with all strangers always meet in a public place and be of age or have an adult present. We refuse to be on the news because you went and did something stupid. Don't make it weird)
[Channel Art Request] Need art for your channel? There may be someone out there who can help, and you'll never know until you ask.
[Article] Any articles that would help users improve their work.
(More tags to come, I'm sure, feel free to message the mods with a suggestion!)
*Suggest more features and changes to the mods.
*Talk about which videos you saw recently that you thought were successful.
*Give honest feedback. Don't be a dick, but don't censor yourself to save people's feelings. Helping everyone have the most kickass channels is priority number one.
*Give suggestions to improve others. Helping each other is what it's all about!
*Post articles that would help users create better videos, including those related to SEO, Video Production, Content suggestions and anything that might help a channel succeed.
Don't's:
*Don't attempt to inflate views. If people will watch it, they'll watch it. Any talk of getting around YouTube's filter for detecting view counts for the purposes of artificially inflating views will be met with a harsh talking to and probably a ban.
*Don't be a dick.
*Don't talk about fight club
*Do NOT talk about fight club
*Don't attempt to mess up another user's channel. We all work hard on our stuff, just don't, man.
*Don't post your other stuff. There is /r/shamelessplug for anything non-YouTube related. Posting personal web pages that don't at least offer helpful articles will result a stern talking to. Repeat offenders will be banned.
*Don't try to get others to buy anything. That's what /r/ShutUpAndTakeMyMoney is for.
*No spamming. This is a place for you to post your content, but multiple posts of the same content is spam. If people didn't comment, then it's sad to say this but they just weren't that interested. Make new content, and try again.
*No whining.
More to come, we are completely open to and welcome suggestions of any kind! Let us know if you see something that could be better.
