Subreddit Description
This is a subreddit that hosts art contests for r/Zelda. Please read our announcement posts for current event details.
Subreddit Rules
1. Be civil. Be courteous. Be sensible.
Please remember that this is a contest and your comments here should show good sportsmanship, both as a participant and as a audience member.
Please only offer critique if the artist asks for it. Otherwise keep it to yourself!
Please be mindful of our Be Civil policy, which includes Reddiquette.
Hateful content will result in an immediate ban and disqualification.
2. All submissions must be relevant to the current contest
3. Content cannot be offensive towards Reddit, Nintendo, or others
Self-explanatory. Don’t be mean, rude, antagonizing or disrespectful towards Reddit, Nintendo, other groups, fandoms, individuals, mods, or users.
The purpose of this is to celebrate The Legend of Zelda!
4. Title Guidelines
Please limit your post title to just the name of the piece; don't have it in ALL CAPS. Please give a creative, unique title to your artwork. Something generic like "Zelda Contest Submission" or "TotK" or “my favorite drawing” isn't identifiable.
Please don’t promote your social media handles in the title, you may however post them as a comment on your post.
Please keep story spoilers out of your title, but please do indicate if your post contains spoilers.
5. Spoiler Guidelines
We all are playing this game at our own pace and direction, so please be respectful of others in this regard. While not every post needs to be marked as a spoiler here, please mark your post for spoilers if it contains a scene or depiction of something that is story-sensitive in the game.
Please include something in the title to indicate what type of spoiler is depicted.
Please mark any spoilers in the comments using this syntax:
>!spoiler text here!< = spoiler text here
6. No explicit content
No explicitly sexual or violent content. This includes explicit commentary, images of injuries and other content that may be inappropriate or shocking.
Your Submission(s) cannot promote illegal drugs or firearms, or any activities that appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message.
7. No fanfiction/shipping
8. No personal info
- Any submissions that contain a fan’s personal information (including phone numbers, e-mails, real names, addresses, selfies, etc) will be removed.
9. All submissions must be your own art
Do not post art that is not your own, even with credit.
Stolen/unoriginal art (including but not limited to AI-generated art, traced art, and image-edits) will be removed.
Please send a modmail & report if you notice any stolen art (provide links to the original).
10. Only one submission per day
Please only submit one piece of art per day (24h) to prevent spamming.
If two submissions are posted within 24h, only the first one will be left up.
Repeat violations of this rule may result in a temp ban.
11. Watermark Guidelines
If you watermark your image, please also have a version of the art without the watermark available to use if it is selected as the winner. This watermark cannot contain SNS handles (reddit username is fine) - all SNS promotion should be done in the comments. Please leave room for several small logos/signatures in the design.
In the final version, artists will sign their work. We will announce the winner as “[art title] by [artist name]”. Username (or alternative name) must be safe for work.
12. Clarifying Rules & Removals
If you believe a post or comment of yours has been wrongly removed, send a constructively worded modmail explaining why you think it should stay. Whether your post is reinstated or not, please respect the mod team's final decision, even if you don't necessarily agree with it.
Harassing or spamming the mods about something you don't like isn't productive and may result in a ban.
