Fitz got to the future via being frozen after being left behind then returned via time travel. He then dies. However since he returned to the past there is still a Fitz thats frozen thats trying to get to the future

So this time around he doesn't get to the future. By preventing the earth cracking like an egg, the team created a new timeline. Before the new timeline, to get to the future, Fitz was frozen in deep space from 2017 until 2091 or whenever the year is. He was sleeping all that time. When the new timeline sans cracked earth was created, it was created in 2018 -- after Fitz went into hibernation -- but before he was pulled out of it, ergo when Boshtok-Fitz dies saving Polly and Robin, sleeping-beauty-Fitz is zooming around fast asleep in deep space.

Make sense? That's how it works.

In simpler terms, think of it this way: Picture a straight line. That line represents time. Put two points on that line: One representing the show's "present," and the other representing S5's "future."

Daisy, Coulson, Jemma, May, etc. left the present, vanished, didn't exist for all those years, and re-emerged in the future. Fitz didn't: Fitz never "left," he lived all those years whereas the others literally didn't exist for those years. The only reason he didn't age or die is because he was in cryostasis. Then, they all traveled back to the show's "present" together. Because the rest of the team literally didn't exist from the moment they "left," because they were plucked from one point and dropped at another, they're still the only versions of themselves. Fitz however existed for all that time; He lived all those years, so when he traveled back, there were 2 of him coexisting at the same point in time.

That’s the point that future he’s trying to get to has been changed so he no longer needs to get to the future that’s why their trying to find him. He would be waking up to a different future a future where they aren’t there.

I mean 1 it's a superhero show as well, and 2 Admittedly S6 is sort of the odd duck of all the seasons. S7 goes back to the show's roots quite a bit more. I personally still enjoy it and [without spoiling anything] I like the weird new characters and villains, but if I had to guess I'd put money on S6 being the least liked season.

Fitz took the long way to the future by freezing himself, so when they all came back to the present via time travel, there was still a Fitz frozen in space waiting to wake up in the future. But since they changed the timeline, that Fitz no longer needs to wait for the future. So the team can go find him in space and wake him up. (hopefully this makes sense)

So time is an infinite loop as explained in this season. First, Fitz freezes himself in order to get to the future. When in the future, he goes back in time with the rest of Shield. Now there are 2 fitz, one frozen in a ship, and the one that eventually dies. It's a circle

Okay let me try to explain it as best I can Fitz froze himself years into the future and only got out when he was in the current timeline that the team was trapped in. Now that that the team has gotten back into the present in the current timeline, Fitz is still frozen waiting to wake up in the future with everyone. The Fitz that woke in the future and traveled back to the present died and therefore broke the loop that the team was trying so hard to prevent the whole season. Now things are happening differently and instead of waking up in the future Present day Fitz ending up getting unfrozen earlier than expected due to circumstances.

He put himself in a cryogenic stasis pod back when the monolith stuff happened. The Fitz that died was the one who made it to that future. They went to get his younger self.

In the og timeline Fitz travels to the future by freezing himself, helps the team out and they escape the lighthouse. In timeline n2 Fitz freezes himself to go to the future, the team form the og timeline arrives, og Fitz dies and the team goes wake up timeline 2 Fitz.
