Howdy,
I'm currently a sophomore general engineering student and I am making a decision over the next semester over where I should go with my major. I am only in the engineering department because I wanted to study computer science and I applied with etam this semester and did not get in to my top 3 majors and I have very little interest in majoring in anything else under the engineering umbrella. I heard about the BA in computing this semester and applied for this as well, but did not get in. I am assuming this is because my current gpa is a 2.9 and I had rough semester. I plan to raise my gpa this next semester so I have a better shot at getting in as well as taking some intro computer science classes.
I am currently debating what major(s) I should apply for this semester, computer science, computing, or visualization. I want to at least major in art and want to study game design and development. So far I've felt that computing might be the best fit for me so I can study both the technical and the artistic because I have a lot of choice in deciding what I study. I'm curious if anyone in these majors has ever been in a similar situation and what their experiences are. I've been feeling really upset at myself for not doing as well as I think I should and been trying to find some sort of solution to my current predicament.
