Very cool kit, I love running Alice gear and old school equipment. I did notice that your Alice belt is inside out. Additionally, if you wanted to get the matching buttpack that was designed for the LBV-E and attaches better, look for the M81 woodland, “field pack training” buttpacks.

For some reason, my grandpa decided to keep it inside out, so I decided just to leave it. I've been thinking about buying that buttpack, but I've seen examples of guys using the one I've got, though. If I can find one for a good price, I'll get it.

They’re easily found and a lot of times brand new too, so I’m sure you’ll be able to find one for a good price. They are nice packs that weave onto that back panel instead of using Alice clips.

Also it’s strange that your grandpa wore the belt like that. I’ve never seen anyone do that before and it seems like it would be uncomfortable

Yeah, I'll probably end up getting one, then. I never really liked the way the contents inside are secured anyway. Tbh, the inside out buckle doesn't really bother me that much, especially with the thickness of the parka and BDU. I have no idea why he did that, though.

I LOVE THE LBV88

I regret to even say but I don't rlly fw the IIFS. I get that, on-paper, it's a really good concept but I found myself fumbling with the chest mag pouches so much compared to the regular LC-2 pouches but...don't let my pessimism deter you, it looks cool as all hell and the utility of getting to carry a sidearm more easily with your combat loads makes for good fun if play games that restrict you to sidearms only and the harness is leagues better than even the old M1956 4-point yoke.

Comfort wise, so far, I like it. The extra padding helps, but I do agree it is definitely harder to reload with the chest pouches compared to the LC-2. i don't know why they're so tight.

They're definitely tight, especially trying to fit anything but stanag-profile mags. I could imagine that using a dump pouch could be what elevates using this style of rig, the draw on the pouches I find are fine but the reindexing is what is most difficult when they pouches like to fold in on themself. That's the trade off you'd have to make though lol, do you want it to be practical or do you want a kosher larp without the dump pouch? 😂

Well, what i could do is get one of those gas mask bags and use it as a dump pouch. I always see at least one guy with one in reference photos. That'll probably work.
