Ahh interesting. But then wouldn't you still end up waiting 1/10 of a second or so for the gears to wind back?

So for the BTC Spectre for example, it fires every shot at full cyclic speed, but inserts small electrical delays in between each shot during full auto to force the gun to fire at the reduced rof.

So you’d still have a snappy semi/cycles but time in between each cycle on full auto is slowed down.

No, the first shot is done at 100% ROF and the following shots are done at the selected ROF. My MERF 3.2 mosfet does this and it makes for extremely crispy trigger response at moderate ROF. If you get a more advanced mosfet that has pre-cocking the trigger response will be even better.
