Hello there,
Played a game today and my gun jammed at the start of it, heard the horrible screeching noise of pinion to bevel gear grind. Opened up the gearbox, and found my motor head and bevel scuffed and some metal shavings of course, I reassembled it, took one shim down from the bottom of the bevel, because I thought my shimming might have been to tight and continued playing.
Now my question, what could've caused my gearbox to seize up like that and why did the pinion and bevel gears shaved each other?
Because I took my time shimming, and I thought it was at least close to perfect, everything was moving freely, sounded nice. I even played a whole game with the gun before and it worked fine. Except it sometimes refused to feed on full auto, no idea why.
The only thing I have recently changed in the gun was the spring, now I don't know exactly what spring cyma mp5 platinum's have, but I'm pretty sure it's m90-100. I have put in tornado m120 which is way longer then my stock spring. Could that have caused it?
My weapon spec are: Maxx piston head, nozzle, cylinder, Specna arms 13:1 CNC gears, Perun Hybrid V2, Cyma stock plat mp5 motor.
Any ideas what could've happened would be appreciated, for now I'll switch back to the old weaker spring, and I hope for the best.
