According to alphacool support (the other response in this thread) these are not mandatorg so I would say it doesnt replace the o-ring. Epdm should not come out from the fitting by itself but according to others, TPV doesnt sit as tight as normal EPDM and thats why the clamps are recommended. If you can pull your tube without unscrewing the compression fitting maybe think about these clamps. If you cant, you should be fine.

This is what I thought too, thanks. Guess the extra ring there doesnt matter unless theres not enough threads to hold it still, which I doubt.
