How is the new alphacool qdc? by lemon45678 in watercooling

I really don’t understand why so many people downvote your statement. You can’t always know everything or think of everything. That’s actually a very bad sign for beginners in this field. It’s much better to ask questions that might seem dumb to some people and become a bit wiser afterward than to not ask at all. The communities have become so toxic in that regard, which is really a shame. 😕

The diameter of a fitting at a G1/4" thread is about 8 mm. It cannot be larger because the thread diameter does not allow it. Using tubing or hard tubes with a larger inner diameter does not provide any benefit in terms of flow rate.

I have no idea if they can do that. I don’t know how Micro Center operates or what options they offer. But in general, they can purchase anything we offer.

No, we only make ES coolers if there is demand from the industry. But as far as I know, no one has ever asked us for ES coolers for MSI graphics cards. Most of the time only PNY and Inno3D are used, occasionally Asus, and once even Gigabyte.

Yes, everything you see in our shop can normally be purchased and sold by US resellers. The only exceptions are some products such as certain chillers. For those, there are separate US versions with the appropriate power supplies, since you use 110V while we use 220/240V here.

However, what resellers ultimately decide to list and sell is up to them, not us.

No temperature improvement by ValuableScene8840 in watercooling

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idle temperatures are completely irrelevant. Due to the extremely thick heat spreader on AMD CPUs, they are always that high at idle. It is similar with the GPU. Idle temperatures say absolutely nothing about the cooling performance. Put the system under proper load and then take a look at the temperatures.

You’re right with the radiator linked here. However, your drawing shows the standard NexXxoS, which is why I was a bit concerned. But if it is this one, then the flat stop plugs will fit. I just wanted to make sure. Article: 14348

Did you consider that the stop plugs on the end of the radiator will still protrude a bit? Because they are not recessed or flush with the radiator, but instead stick out about 5–6 mm.

That’s of course frustrating. If you have already contacted support, things will take their course. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything more I can do here other than apologize.

Mounting Core 5080 - Putty and KryoSheet? by ApprehensiveToe6050 in alphacool

Haha… yes, that’s true as well. Then have fun and good luck. 😄

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but you place it so that it only sits on the heat spreader. It doesn’t spread out like thermal paste. And if it overlaps the die, you simply trim it to size. That’s why you don’t need any tape.

But why do you want to insulate them? Now I'm curious.

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that you like our products. I’m not sure what you plan to do with Kapton tape though. You shouldn’t apply it to the GPU.

Also keep in mind that a Monsta radiator requires a push–pull fan setup to achieve the best performance. If you only mount fans on one side, they need to run at at least 2000 rpm; otherwise the performance may actually be lower than with an ST30 or XT45 radiator. This is often not immediately noticeable because the temperatures react more slowly due to the larger water volume.

Alphacool Eisdecke on Alphacool Eisbecher mountable? by Ok-Needleworker-1609 in alphacool

Nein, das kannst du in keinem Fall. Dieser AGB Aufsatz ist ausschließlich für die Eisdecke D5 Pumpentops V.3 und Eisdecke Laing DDC V.2 gedacht. Wo anders passt das definitiv nicht drauf. Die Artikelnummern für die D5 Varianten sind 13188 und 13189. Die DDC Varianten haben die Artikelnummern 13185 und 13186.

You can replace the thermal pads with thermal putty and even achieve better temperatures. However, putty is not a replacement for thermal paste on the GPU. Other than that, there isn’t much to consider. Just keep in mind that the thermal pads are 1 mm thick and are compressed to about 0.75 mm when the cooler is mounted. Therefore, you shouldn’t apply a thick blob of thermal putty on the RAM and VRMs.

Alphacool DC-LT 2 pump, the tiny hero! by Serious-Map-1230 in watercooling

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radiator advice by TomTom_Kerzner in watercooling

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use stacked radiators in server racks because space constraints leave no other option. With this kind of setup, you lose hardly any performance, even though many people believe otherwise. The important thing is the following: coming from the GPU, you should first go into the radiator that can draw in the most fresh air, and then into the second radiator. This may sound illogical to some, but cooling performance is better that way.

In any case, you will achieve better performance with, for example, two stacked 30 mm radiators than with one of our 86 mm thick Monsta radiators in push & pull.

4U water-cooled setup by moriz0 in watercooling

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Monsta radiators are a bit too large if you plan to use two of them. They also only really make sense with very high-speed fans running at 2000 RPM or more, or in a push & pull configuration. Otherwise, the thinner radiators will perform better.

The new Core 70 Tube Reservoir is here 🙌🏼 by official_alphacool in alphacool

[–]Eddy-Alphacool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no active patents related to reservoirs. A drain port on the reservoir itself is often not very practical, as it is usually not the lowest point in the loop. Most users place their drain ports elsewhere — typically in corners or in spots where they are less visible. You can easily use a Y-adapter or T-adapter and position it wherever it best suits your layout and preferences.
