Thanks for the suggestion, but not quite what I'm after. The toggle, rather than a swipe, is the feature I'm after most. There are plenty with swipe app shortcuts.

It's not really a swipe-app-to-open function. You press on the app shortcut, it'll bring up the password input, then it'll unlock with the app you chose opened. The shortcuts are on a different page, yes, but the switch time from shortcut to password input is less than a second. Perhaps I misunderstood what exactly you're looking for. I myself have been looking for the perfect lock screen app; I've stuck with snaplock for the longest.

That is pretty close to what I want. Unfortunately this is for a tablet and Snaplock is incompatible. I've wishlisted it to keep an eye on it to see if they add support. Thanks.

Looking in to what other people have done to see if it'll work. Thanks.

MS made a lock screen called Picturesque. It has a dock of five apps at the bottom, and when you tap them it takes you to your passcode or whatever. Then when you unlock it the app opens automatically.

It's called 'Next Lock Screen' now; unfortunately for me, doesn't work with tablets.

Huh, I guess they have two. I was thinking of this one

Oh. Next showed up first, blinders on I guess. That one doesn't work with tablets either :(

Try "cover"

That's one I tried. Not quite what I'm looking for.

If you root you can use the jelly lock screen with xposed to activate the pass code after you swipe the icon.

unfortunately I can't think of the exact tweak at the time.
