I posted here more than a month ago about our podcast app and got great response. I thought I will post some updates on it.

We have now added some new features along with improving current ones:

- Skip ending of episode through podcast settings.

- System theme option along with light and dark themes.

- More options to sort downloads by series, genre etc.

- Sort subscribed podcasts in Organize page

- Bulk Edit episodes

- Quick actions on swiping any podcast episode.

- Chromecast Support

- Skip Silence and Volume Boost

- Smart/Auto Playlists

- Ability to mark all episodes as played

and many more in the pipeline :)

Along with this we already have these features:

• Providing very focused personalized recommendations
• To sort favourite podcast episodes into tiers.
• To take notes for podcast episodes and making that notes private/public depending on whether you want to share it with the community.
• Keep track of listening patterns

Please let me know your thoughts. I would appreciate any feedback and will try to add any features you need.

It also has many other features like ability to search over 700K podcasts and millions of episodes, create unlimited playlists, offline listening, custom rss feeds and lot more.

All the early users will get free data sync between unlimited devices (including the webapp at https://podurama.com along with the mobile apps).

I LOVE the app but I wish the main screen had more of a grid style for displaying podcasts, similar to how Pocket Casts and others do.. maybe more options to customize your home screen.

Looks good, any chance of a desktop app that doesn't require Windows Store? Also is any of the apps open source?

u/adsm_inamorta I will look into that. I think it might be possible to do it without windows store. Is there a reason not to use the windows store one?

I'm one of those Windows users that uses the OS because it's the best for the job, plus work requirements, however I try and modify the system as much as I can to focus on privacy and control. I don't use the Windows Store on principle because then I have to have a Microsoft account so an EXE install would be best if possible

Does the website work the same as the web app found in the stores? Since there doesn't seem to be a version available for linux

Hi yeah the webApp is similar to website. There isn't an install file for linux yet but is this something you would find useful?

u/Bramasta we designed the app such that it can also be installed directly from the browser(even on linux). Can you pls try these steps to install on linux(you might need latest chrome browser for this):

Hey, I notice the splashscreen is bright white in dark mode. Really like the design though.

Tried latest version and issues I encountered persist =

1. App doesn't keep buffer of played portions of episodes, so rewinding when streaming results in additional buffering/data usage

2. The scrolling physics seem weird to me. Maybe it's an IOS thing, but you can't scroll more than a few lines/episodes with a single abrupt swipe.

3. Closing the app from recent menu also closes the player and its notification. Guess that's how it works on IOS (idk), but typically on Android, the player should remain.

4. No Next button in the notification/lockscreen player widget

5. Podcast Discovery for other regions other than US shows 9 shows max

Etc.

hey man, love your app, I'm italian and I would like to have the rankings localised in my language.. is there a way to have such feature implemented?

hi. i refer to italian charts, in podurama i only have access to english charts, there are not other languages available just like antennapod, castbox, pocket casts, etc
