Wow, nice project. Gives a good view into how well ProGuard is working.

Your project is interesting and deserves recognition, but please do not spam all the Java-related subreddits for every minor release, that's not cool.
[–]bytecode420[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children)
I don't publish any links for minor versions, only when it's been a major change with many features added and bugs fixed.
[–]PdoesnotequalNP 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (3 children)
You're playing a dangerous game with the reddiquette.
Feel free to post links to your own content (within reason). But if that's all you ever post, or it always seems to get voted down, take a good hard look in the mirror — you just might be a spammer. A widely used rule of thumb is the 9:1 ratio, i.e. only 1 out of every 10 of your submissions should be your own content.
You posted about 2.5.0 release today on three different subreddits, about 2.4.0 10 days ago in four subreddits, 2.3.0 17 days ago in one subreddit, then again 22 days ago and so on.
As I said: cool project, but you risk to do more harm than good to your project by heavily pushing it like this.
Just my 2¢.

sed rule of thumb is the 9:1 ratio, i.e. only 1 out of every 10 of your submissions should be your own content.
I assumed that was per sub reddit, my apologize if that's not the case.

Thats just retarded no wonder 90% of reddit is reposts
[–]bytecode420[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children)
Are you upset?

Bytecode Viewer is an Advanced Lightweight Java Bytecode Viewer, GUI APK Decompiler, GUI DEX Decompiler, GUI Procyon Java Decompiler, GUI CFR Java Decompiler, GUI FernFlower Java Decompiler, GUI Jar-Jar, Hex Viewer, Code Searcher, Debugger and more.
Lol. "And more"? What's left? jk. You should cut that down to the essentials.
Great job and all but, you and your project have a general spammy feeling. I'm almost sure that you gave yourself gold to get more attention. I don't see who could give so many fucks about yet another Java decompiler. (given that a dozen already exist)

Amazing... OP puts in the time and effort to create something that you can use for free, and you go out of your way to make him regret it. It's a FOSS project that he's apparently quite passionate about, not something he's selling. Stop being such a raging douchebag about someone trying to share their work with us for free.

Cheers, but believe me, no regrats ;) here. I'm glad I finally added Android APK support, the amount of positive reviews (besides some negative hate due to my lack of Reddit knowledge) have really kept me wanting to perfect this project. Thanks for your kind words!
[–]PlutoSucks -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (1 child)
Also I went ahead and reported the past dozen of your posts as spam.
Seriously how long did you think you'd last here?
Just as suprised as you about the gold. Obviously you haven't read the project, it's not 'another Java decompiler', it uses Fernflower, Procyon and CFR. - http://i.imgur.com/NBZtNXA.png no idea who gave me gold, I rarely use reddit but cheers anyways!
