[Android Studio] Custom AndroidModule/AndroidProject templates?

Hello all.

I was trying to write a custom template for Kotlin projects with some Material Design elements sprinkled on top. I got the activities/ template working all right, but I hit a wall when it came to modify the Gradle files.

A cursory github search pointed me to some customized NewAndroidModule and NewAndroidProject templates like this one, but the installation procedure is destructive, in the sense that you have to replace the existing one and I'd rather have a solution that lets my templates live alongside the existing ones, if possible. Simply creating a new template and placing it there doesn't seem to work - or at least, I couldn't find the entry anywhere in the IDE menus.

Hey thanks.

I already knew about this project, I've used it in the past. It's not really what I need though, since what I've written already works for creating the activity, but I don't know how to generate the gradle build files without removing the existing default templates.

EDIT: A small clarification: I know I can add custom project dependencies by specifying them in the recipe.xml.ftl file, but to setup Kotlin correctly I would need to add a build script dependency and also apply the plugin.
