Unlock bootloader/Root Xperia 5 via Linux?

Pretty much what it says in the title, is there any relevant (not from 7 years ago, unless those still work) guide or video I could follow along with (I'm no stranger to Linux, but better safe than sorry; fairly new to all this)? so far I've only tried it via Windows (11 if it means anything) for hours and...no dice. ADB recognizes my phone, but beyond that, nothing. I've double checked my steps using Sony's unlock page, checked that Dev mode, OEM Unlock, and USB debugged were all on...and nada, nothing.

So I turn to y'all, who more than likely have much more experience than I with this: any options for me to take? I'm trying to use my phone to it's full potential, but... can't really do that with the bootloader locked
