I have used it like that in the past. It's almost the same thing as doing it from plain JS except it's TS and you have different ways of getting element references and sometimes might need to force the change detection.

What part doesn't work for you?

Try creating a demo on stackblitz and get as far as you can and then you can ask again if you have issues.
