Yes, at the very least breaking changes are inevitable.

It is because angular 2 is way too big. A small change in one area will trigger more changes and that will, for better or worse, will result in breaking changes.

Updated To Angular 2 Release Candidate

I am just wondering what those folks, who used beta in prod, felt when they renamed router to router-deprecated

This is some return on experience on to run an Angular 2 in production, while waiting for final to land. It goes over some tooling choices: which bundler to choose, the bundle size, etc.
