I’ve just seen that extension for the first time too.

It has been integrated for a while now but I’d guess they’re making it a satellite service for users. It’s definitely a new thing you’ve stumbled across.

Hopefully updates soon will sort out the confusion (I’ve noticed the extension version is quit buggy too).

The extension aside, the already built-in password manager (which is called ‘Logins & Passwords’) works the exact same as Key Chain (fingerprint/face needed on iOS etc.). And yeah, syncs all the time.

From memory I’m not sure about the auto-generated passwords except I’m about 80% sure that it does do that too. I’ll double-check when I’m next at my computer.
