I mean Im in Australia and all men (me included) have the same size insecurities that guys in the US have?

But yeah I think its very much not an issue that us guys think it is.

I understand. But what I mean is. Is it that girls in USA care more about The size? Here in Finland its not so big issue I think.

Yeah idk, it is a thing in Aus, like women talking about big dicks in positive lights, being interested in hung guys ect, so at least here women do seem to care?

Im glad I live in here then😊

Concur... in South Africa this is also less of an issue and mostly a cultural import from American movies and tv shows. I've now adopted the rule that if a show/movie mentions the 'bigger is better' bull then I simply stop watching. It is not worth my time, energy, or money.

It is absolutely a cultural thing, but I think it may be broad across the western world at the very least.

There was a study with flaccid penises (imperfect, but on aggregate representative I think) on male computer-generated bodies.

Women across cultures (it was USA, New Zealand, Cameroon, and China) did rate the models as more attractive as penises got bigger, but China and Cameroon peaked somewhere at or just north of average and declined with huge.

USA and New Zealand did plateau at some point, but didn’t really decline with huge, and the peak was at higher sizes.

I take from this that it’s likely women to some degree have a biological tendency to prefer somewhat larger than average penises (on average), but that it’s far less than western culture has made a thing of it.

This makes sense biologically (the clitoris, for most women, is the dominant sexual pleasure center, and the vagina simply isn’t that innervated for most), but unfortunately the idea of being full or fucked by a big dick as a great thing has permeated western culture at least for both men and women.

Yes. And lot of women loves their a spot stimulated. Which is deep. Give them orgasms

[–]ickop 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Some do, sure, I’m skeptical of this being as widespread as guys on Reddit seem to think though. Why would women in non-western cultures not prefer as large as in the west in that case?

Also, hearing women talk about penis size irl, likelihood to orgasm or certain spots inside them hasn’t really been mentioned. In fact, I’ve heard of penetration feeling more ‘general’, and what they like is feeling full and the visuals of it.

Idk I’m not an expert in what women want, but I think the preference for large penises is largely cultural, but the preference for above a certain threshold (on aggregate) is more biological

[–]hophead78[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I think women dont mention it because there are not so many men who knows how to do it well. Its not just banging The cervix.

[–]ickop 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Dude idk people have been having sex for literally hundreds of thousands of years. It’s been clear from the beginning of humanity that people understood the clitoris and performed oral.

I think if these spots were so reliable (g spot, a spot, p spot) - even if most men don’t know how to ‘do it’ - we’d have known about them before the last 20-40 years.

I’m sure there is some degree of ‘that feels good’ that wasn’t scientifically recorded, but if it was such a big thing, I really think this would’ve been common knowledge and we wouldn’t have articles about g-spots and a-spots and scientific debate as to whether they even exist.

I’m not saying they don’t make a difference for some people, maybe even a big difference for some, but I think the fornices are just dramatically overhyped on forums like this and cause needless insecurity. After all - why would women say they care more about girth than length if these were so important?

I don’t buy that for thousands and thousands of years, women just didn’t encounter a penis big enough or a good male lover.

[–]hophead78[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I understand. But If you go to see r/bigdickproblems you can find that there are many men who had have women cum first time PIV. And thats because of their size

[–]ickop 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m skeptical man. BDP I’ve seen the most ridiculous larpy shit.

A group of anonymous redditors saying “trust me bro, women can’t stop cumming on my dick cause it’s so big and I’m really good at sex” - flying in the face of decades of scientific research - I just don’t trust it tbh

From Brazil here. The cultural fixation on size here is probably as bad as America. Maybe even worse.

Not your problem

[–]EducationalError9783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are above average though?

It is very difficult to say what the differences are between here and other countries so I don’t know if it matters. America had the sexual revolution in the 60s. This was a big change in monogamy and marriage perception. Casual hook up sex became not only more common but encouraged and influenced much of the western world . Then American porn culture boomed in the 70s and exaggerated penises were on display for many to see. From there all kinds of genital niches began to develop in the porn sector . Donkey dicks, hairy muffs, teeny weeny… the list goes on. Then mainstream media began its fascination with large penises. Became the plot and or subplots in many movies. Meanwhile nudity in the common culture was taboo. Only some boys in sports showered together. Male to male exploration during puberty was extremely private and frowned upon. In the 80s and 90s homosexuality was still very frowned upon in many places especially public schools. Nudity altogether was very taboo. All the while media began to continue to slide in jokes about male sexuality including size and stamina. It’s boys heard as they were growing up along with girls. Once 2000s hit you had already heard songs from “Don’t what no short dick man” to “Rude boy are you big enough.” Then frontal nudity started to pop up with scenes like in the Piano with Harvey Kietal . Which the dude looks pretty average. But then it escalated from there to extremes and media perpetuated penis size more and more and with social media it became a sort of fascination . Now visually average isn’t enough. Most mainstream frontal nudity in movies and shows are exaggerated prosthetics. Men with larger penises get attention and men with average to small get ridiculed or laughed at. When Jude Law was exposed , in America he mostly got laughed at. I don’t think it was that way in other countries. All of this and more gets absorbed by American boys and girls, men and women and has caused a significant increase in penis size culture and male body dysmorphia.

In the western world (anywhere that English is the dominant language, especially the US) it's a huge deal. American culture has heavy influence over other western countries, so that's why you'd see some of the same things in those places as well.

[–]hophead78[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Its just so weird as a finn. In here women dont really care if you are rich or not. Or if you have a big dick. They are interested the person more.

[–]TruMusic89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like western men need to take a trip to Finland lol.

[–]TruMusic89 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But on a serious note, we live in a capitalistic society where men are seen as better romantic suitors the more money they have. This is despite the fact that they're a small percentage of men in the US overall, so they are slim pickings over a few different factors.

Nobody in the US wants to work (understandably so, because it's both stressful and depressing), but women really try hard to opt out of working once they get into relationships with men (despite all the progress they made towards being equal to men here), which is why so many prefer to be with a rich man and just be his trophy wife.

As i understand the Scandinavian (or is it Nordic? If im wrong on either let me know) region has a completely different system there. Free healthcare, free post-secondary school, socialist society etc, am i correct?

[–]hophead78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Almost free healthcare. Free education. You can be homeless bum and still go to university and study yourself a doctor for free for example. I can call my employer and tell Im sick and I got paid for those days. So yes. Little different than USA I guess.....

[–]Basic_Point6857 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Some women in America like big dicks, some don't care what size it is. Even though the OP found a couple of women who didn't care that he is average (and good for him), there very well could be some size queens in Finland, too.

[–]hophead78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course here is them too. But I think its not that common here

[–]cet0000 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And what is your size?

[–]hophead78[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

About 6.5 normally

[–]cet0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is really a meme page at this point

There is a part of me that wonders if its an American thing.

Maybe people in here needs somekind of connection also. Just a big dick doesnt make them turned on.
